The album Muso Ko is a masterpiece by Habib Koite and Bamada. To hear this music live is an unforgettable experience, and a valuable lesson in how a band should work together.
wow, imagine discovering such beautiful soulful music only now, after all this years......now more keen than ever in exploring more African musicians.
@cropob What a shame that you are so easily distracted from beauty. No matter how much life has hurt you, maybe you should give love and appreciation another chance. Trust me man; it leads to a better life for you and everyone you meet.
I completely don't understand people who don't like it!! I fell in love with his music long time ago and can listen to it all the time... Big Love to Habib Koite!!
I first heard Habibe's voice on my son's Putumayo C.D's and instantly fell in love with his voice and guitar playing. I've now downloaded all his music that I could get my hands on.
This guy is good really good I'm trying to find another song by him called amadrai I think thats how you spell it If you find it let me know it's sick!
@xylene101101 Habib and the guys are truly amazing. And very nice guys, too. As for your question, I think you mean the song "Amandrai". That's by another Malian artist: Ali Farka Toure (RIP). He was a legend and his son Vieux Farka Toure is fantastic, too. If you can see any of them playing live, do it, you'll be glad you did!
I met Habib in Harare, Zimbabwe for the HIFA. He rocked good with his band. I am so proud of Africa because of these great artists. I wish we could have a festival that celebrates these African gurus somewhere in South Africa or Zimbabwe.....

BATOUMANBE (Name of a woman from the Bozo fishing tribe)
Two people from different worlds discover an impossible love, The young Bozo fisherman and the siren of the river. They could neither be seen together, nor marry. It is out of love for the owner of the breasts. ....(etc.), My dear Battoumanbe, not all love ends in marriage'
Does anyone have any information on a Habib Koite concert in the USA? Please share. His music is therapeutic and so lovely. It reminds me of the latin rythms of my native Puerto Rico. Please come to the US Mr.Koite!
