  • Four years ago I had the chance to sing with him in a musical (the name was orphéo) in France with my class ( I was in primary school).

  • The album Muso Ko is a masterpiece by Habib Koite and Bamada. To hear this music live is an unforgettable experience, and a valuable lesson in how a band should work together.

  • Great song, great performance!! Thanks for posting!!

  • This guy is my science teacher's cousin, no joke!

  • habib koite is a wonderful voice from Africa, and lots of us are looking up to him as a legend.

  • wow, imagine discovering such beautiful soulful music only now, after all this years......now more keen than ever in exploring more African musicians.

    Bravo Habib

  • Beautiful.

  • haha the one in the marimba is the father of a friend :D

  • amazing music...hello from Serbia

  • this is so amazing

  • the dude on the xylophone looks like donkey kong.

  • @cropob jaja racist.

  • @cropob What a shame that you are so easily distracted from beauty. No matter how much life has hurt you, maybe you should give love and appreciation another chance. Trust me man; it leads to a better life for you and everyone you meet.

  • I completely don't understand people who don't like it!! I fell in love with his music long time ago and can listen to it all the time... Big Love to Habib Koite!!

  • Some people are just too good. He music is simply great.

  • (l)

  • i have this man in friends!

  • One of the malian greats

  • I first heard Habibe's voice on my son's Putumayo C.D's and instantly fell in love with his voice and guitar playing. I've now downloaded all his music that I could get my hands on.

  • @Karmicsamadi86 I hope you mean you paid for it.

  • 11 dislikes from Lil' John

  • @44eelz HAHA! First the song made me cry, and then your comment made me just burst out laughing really hard, hahahha.

  • this song became the song of my soul..

  • This guy is good really good I'm trying to find another song by him called amadrai I think thats how you spell it If you find it let me know it's sick!

  • @xylene101101 Habib and the guys are truly amazing. And very nice guys, too. As for your question, I think you mean the song "Amandrai". That's by another Malian artist: Ali Farka Toure (RIP). He was a legend and his son Vieux Farka Toure is fantastic, too. If you can see any of them playing live, do it, you'll be glad you did!

  • so nice ! ですね.

  • Oh how sad, 10 people have no soul therefore disliked this song. What a shame.

  • @Valzz99 some people hate what they dont understand it cant be helped

  • This singer is amazingly soulful. His singing makes me cry even when I don't understand one word of the language.

  • I met Habib in Harare, Zimbabwe for the HIFA. He rocked good with his band. I am so proud of Africa because of these great artists. I wish we could have a festival that celebrates these African gurus somewhere in South Africa or Zimbabwe.....

Wishing you both the best thoughts.

  • I can't help feeling that african music has a link with eastern europian muisic

  • funny, i thought this song in particular has a very latin american sound

  • That's because of the clave and the bass rhythm.

  • oh yeah im a bit of a blues/rock dinosaur. just getting into world/folk music. its all good.

  • well probably West africans took their music with them during slavery. The blues also has its roots in Mali/west-Africa I believe.

Two people from different worlds discover an impossible love, The young Bozo fisherman and the siren of the river. They could neither be seen together, nor marry. From their idyll, a proverb has grown: 'Not all love ends in marriage'. But love remains strong. The fisherman said: 'When I touch your breasts, it is not desire. It is out of love for the owner of the breasts. ....(etc.), My dear Battoumanbe, not all love ends in marriage'

  • Batoumanbe is the name of a woman from the Bozo fishin tribe

Two people from different worlds discover an impossibel love.

The young Bozo fisherman and the siren of the river.

The fisherman said: `When I touch your breasts, it is not desire. It is out of love for the owner of the breasts.

If I put my hand around your neck, it is not from the desire to touch your neck, but for the love that I feel for the neck´s owner.

My dear Batoumanbe, not all love ends in marriage´.

  • My favorite new artist in a long time!

    Long live Habib

(very talented percussionist too); Songs all sound different; Enjoys world cultures while retaining his Mali roots; Helps educate people about Mali & Africa; Great stage presence; Touches one's soul whether you understand the words or not; involved in AIDS & fair trade.

  • sin palabras este tema es maravilloso,q musica fabulosa

  • This is wonderful music! One viewing of Wassiye and I was hooked. It would be nice to have the translation of the lyrics but even without it the art transcends the language barrier.

  • OMG! Habib Koité!

  • This music soothes my soul.

  • i love love love his music

  • Thanks erfho8y. There are some who are ignorant of what music really is and apply limitations to the art. I enjoy a lot of music that is not of English language. Music is not a language or a race, it is a combination of spoken feelings and a creation of sounds, that can create harmony in the mind, body, and spirit. it can balance you, enlight you, calm you, or excite you. the choice is yours. And todo5000, your first sentence is correct; you really dont understand.

  • Are you as stupid you don't understand the moral music? It's not about the things he's singing but the MUSIC an the FEELING you get!!!! :-o

  • i really dont understand you guys. You all are funny. You love his songs, but they are in my language. Some of you dont understand what he's saying

  • todo5000, and why you do not explain to us? it is tos simply say that, but open your mind, and also ours, is the really heart of the music.

  • Music is a language everyone understands

  • Es simplemente increible el tipo de musica de Habib Koite, hermoso sin palabras
