What I find so beautifull is the name of this piece, because it's symbols everything our great Union stands for, the unification of people for different cultural backgrounds. In to a glorifying Union where we cann all live in peace and harmnoy regardless of a persons nationality or ethnical background. As a Cultural Antropologist, I find this a very beautifull thing. And I can also truly state, I feel more European than I feel Dutch!

Vous voyez l'UE d'un très bon oeil, pour moi l'UE est une source d'empêchements, de barrages, d'empiètrement sur notre souveraineté nationale, sachant que les hauts responsables de l'Union (la commission par exemple) ne sont MEME pas élus démocratiquement, et n'oeuvrent pas dans l'intérêt des Européens. Quand on travaille à cette échelle, et quand il n'y a pas d'identité européenne à proprement parler, on perd la notion de l'utile. L'UE est un gaspillage d'argent pour le contribuable.A mort l'UE

MaxMuster, I think that you actually should allow all comments regardless of in what language they are written. The EU has after all 23 official languages, and English is just one of them. We should encourage people to know as many of them as possible. It is better you ask people to translate.

Äh, warum heißt die Sprache "Deutsch" und nicht "Österreichisch"? So viel zum "Schwachsinn".

Außerdem, nur mal am Rande erwähnt, der Text der deutschen Nationalhymne wurde von einem deutschen Dichter verfasst, lediglich die Melodie ist von Haydn. Und wo wir bei Komponisten sind, Mozart war zeitlebens Deutscher, er selbst sagte: "Ich komme aus Bayern, ich bin Deutscher." Wegen der Europahymne: Die ist eben von Deutschen, da kannst du uns noch so hassen. Interessiert eh kein Schwein. ;-)

wie kommst du auf hassen? bist du paranoid? ich habe überhaupt nichts gegen deutsche oder irgendwelche andere nationen. war auch eher scherzhaft gemeint :-)

abgesehen davon gibt es auch kein schweizerisch. das ist der deutsche sprachraum der sich eben auf mehrere länder erstreckt. die politischen grenzen haben damit nichts zu tun. keine ahnung warum manche das immer in einen topf werfen müssen.

@kanssasi Sorry, aber jetzt muss ich mal den Germanisten raushängen lassen: Deutsch leiitet sich aus der 'Lingua Theodisca', der 'Sprache des Volkes' ab, im Germanien als 'Þeodisk' bekannt. Aus dem würde 'Tiutsc' (Tühtsch ausgesprochen) und aus jedem dann Doitsch. Österreich kommt vom Wort 'Ostarrîhi' (gesprochen Ostarriechi), was im Mittelhochdeutschen etwa 'Neu erschlossenes Land im Osten' bedeutet.
