You're right I do need to do more homework, to give Sotomayer a chance, esp. that now she rejected her bigoted words. Hopefully the Senate takes all the time it needs too, the way they did with another, male hispanic judge (rejected for being conservative) and Robert Bork under Reagan (inarguably a great constitutional scholar...unlike Sotomayer). Bork was also rejected, seems Dems didn't like his conservatism. Sotomayer is not 1/2 as qualified as Bork was.

Great commentary and wonderful to mention her mother as an inspiration. So often we forget from where we came from and are therefore doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. I congratulate Judge Sotomayor and strong women everywhere!! Way to go!

This is something that I think all kids and parents need to check out Sotomayor to really change the way people view life.  The entire country can put more effort I feel a lot of Americans are settling and become lazy, Effortless humans. This should be a motivator
