I know I am late in the game for commenting but they debunked themselves with the reflextion test. I have to admire you scientific approach to this. I do believe in ghosts but I can't stand fake investigations. I believe science will eventually get its proof but false evidence is more damning than no evedence at all. funny thing is when Jason asks the client "does that reflection look familiar to you" the first thing that popped in my head was YES!! it looks like JASON's!! that was before I saw DigitalMDX's evidence at the end which clearly proves the reflection or humanoid shape is clearly Jason's.

My one complaint with the video here is that the books on the dresser didn't exactly line up with the torso but I will attribute that to the angle of IR camera. Professional indeed. This man's tone never changes throughout the video. It's like inwardly he's saying "come guys I could done a better job faking a ghost in five minutes than you have done the entire season."

Obviously, critics and beleivers of TAPS will use your video to justify their opinions. A true analysis of TAPs integrety can be learned from thier response to very good, non-bias analysis.
Its understandable that often what is presented on TV is for ratings (live or die). Persons wanting the truth have the opertunity to seperate Taps from the show.
thisphotoisproof, it depends on the settings of the FLIR camera, they can change modes, in black and white, dark is warmer. Also, any "Ghost" caught on FLIR would have to be solid, FLIR only picks up reflected or emitted heat from a solid object, or how would they see a cold air conditioner at 70 degrees through an 80 degree air temp, it would be like a solid wall if it picked up air temps or "mists", wouldn't help pilots fly though clouds as well.
Personally, I think a lot of the thermal evidence can/should be thrown out because of how many reflective surfaces you see in places they investigate. But to give my opinion on this moment, if Jay did catch a reflection in the mirror, the image would have been far clearer than it was. This image he caught was barely visible and if you catch an image in the mirror it would look like you directly pointed the imager a person and be bold and clear.
I have 2 agree with Letsgrowtogetor on the camera crew. The camera crew were hired 2 film the TAPS team do the investigation, NOT do the investigation themselves. Otherwise there'd be no need 4 Grant, Jay or the rest of T.A.P.S. 2 be there.
The reason the camera men don't focus entirely on the actual investigation and moreso on the TAPS team is because that's what they were hired to do. The initial camera work and surveying is meant to be done by the team alone as they are the ghost hunters and the camera crew is simply there to capture them and their reactions to what they have seen or heard. The crew is not there to help capture evidence of the paranormal, they are there to capture Grants striking resemblance to Alf.
Another mistake they make is with the Infrared camera.
It is constantly shifting the colors depending on the temperature. They're supposed to "lock" the colors so they will only monitor a range from say 20° to 100°F.
This way during a shot, the color shifting as the device rearranges its color scale - won't be interpreted as movement, since it would be eliminated.
Constantly on taps the camera guys look away from the action or sompletely hack their framing. They are either the worst cameramen on the planet of any age or they know its fake and are focussed on the drama.
A real pro camera guy would never look at the investigators. they might ave the investigator in the shot on a side but the focal point would be whatever the real subject is which is GHOSTS. so next time the camera guy gives up the 5million dollar shot to look at a freaked idiot... u know
the point i made about cameramen ... is that they are taught (pros at least older than 12 years old) know never to shoot away from the "ACTION". If the investigators are looking at something...you think the video guy wants to give up immortality to shoot away from the chance to catch the first real ghost or demon EVER? They are taught to keep filming with bombs going off around them.
no pro shoots away EVER from the 5 billion dollar chance shot of a real ghost...unless he knows nothings there.

Very impressive analysis! You put a lot of hard work into this, and I believe you are correct. As others are saying, you should present this to TAPS, as it is unfortunate this made it to the client.
Some are saying this is evidence of them faking, but it is only evidence of them making a mistake. They are human beings walking around in the dark. They won't be correct 100% of the time.
To me, their characterizations of the alleged paranormal events are so biased it's hard to watch without yelling at the TV. They make it sound as though every sound they think they hear has some attachment to the story of the location. A door creeks and they tell us it must be the guy that shot his family then himself giving us a sign. The GHI is even worse in my opinion. Nice work BTW.
ok i have to say if you watch the termail footage again they would have had to pass the doorway to get to the mirror and at the time jay saw this grant was still fairly close to the door and you see absolutly no outline of a door so based on that its hard to find you as correct however they also had the IR or w/e cam set up i am sure they did compare the two to see if Jay had hit the mirror at all while he was turning
The doorway you mention is the closet door. At 3:02 Grant points out the TV, at 3:04 Jason identifies the closet and then the image appears, the whole time the camera is panning left to right. If you are referring to the IR camera on top of the TV, that was only there when they entered the room. You will notice it is gone from the comparison night vision shot. Showing that IR angle would indeed reveal the full pan of his camera. Thank you for your comments.
You have to remember that at that point they are only a couple of feet from the mirror, not the 6 to 8 feet from the original capture. Also, the only way to explain the lack of a lower body of the original capture, is the books and items on the dresser in front of the mirror blocking any thermal reflections. this isnt fake. they show where they found it in the room. At 3:04 he said "and theres the closet" which is where you see the figure. The mirror wasnt on the closet door at all, and the rocking chair was right in front of it. And how come when they point the camera on the same place afterwards, the "reflection" is not there? plus they would be smart enough to know that it was a reflection.
Watch that sequence over again a couple of times beginning at 3:01. Watch the panning speed (left to right motion) of the left video compared to the right video. The pan on the right video is almost twice as fast as the one on the left, they aren't synchronized at all.
Unfortunately TAPS isn't consistent with the color palettes they select on the FLIR. The particular FLIR they are using offers Rainbow, Rainbow HC, Gray (White Hot), Gray (Black Hot) and Iron for the color palettes. I think if you watch the video again, you will see that they have chosen "Gray (Black Hot)" and therefore white is cold and black is hot. You will see the temperature scale to the right of the thermal image. Thank you for the comment.

Hmm, sad to see this has slipped through, but it's not the first time. I do like the fact that TAPS is one of the few ghost hunters who actually debunk some stuff, but they really don't try hard enough sometimes and often are reaching with their so called 'evidence'. My one complaint with the video here is that the books on the dresser didn't exactly line up with the torso but I will attribute that to the angle of IR camera. Professional indeed. This man's tone never changes throughout the video. It's like inwardly he's saying "come guys I could done a better job faking a ghost in five minutes than you have done the entire season."

Obviously, critics and beleivers of TAPS will use your video to justify their opinions. A true analysis of TAPs integrety can be learned from thier response to very good, non-bias analysis.
Its understandable that often what is presented on TV is for ratings (live or die). Persons wanting the truth have the opertunity to seperate Taps from the show.

thisphotoisproof, it depends on the settings of the FLIR camera, they can change modes, in black and white, dark is warmer. Also, any "Ghost" caught on FLIR would have to be solid, FLIR only picks up reflected or emitted heat from a solid object, or how would they see a cold air conditioner at 70 degrees through an 80 degree air temp, it would be like a solid wall if it picked up air temps or "mists", wouldn't help pilots fly though clouds as well.

Personally, I think a lot of the thermal evidence can/should be thrown out because of how many reflective surfaces you see in places they investigate. But to give my opinion on this moment, if Jay did catch a reflection in the mirror, the image would have been far clearer than it was. This image he caught was barely visible and if you catch an image in the mirror it would look like you directly pointed the imager a person and be bold and clear.

I have 2 agree with Letsgrowtogetor on the camera crew. The camera crew were hired 2 film the TAPS team do the investigation, NOT do the investigation themselves. Otherwise there'd be no need 4 Grant, Jay or the rest of T.A.P.S. 2 be there.

The reason the camera men don't focus entirely on the actual investigation and moreso on the TAPS team is because that's what they were hired to do. The initial camera work and surveying is meant to be done by the team alone as they are the ghost hunters and the camera crew is simply there to capture them and their reactions to what they have seen or heard. The crew is not there to help capture evidence of the paranormal, they are there to capture Grants striking resemblance to Alf.

Another mistake they make is with the Infrared camera.
It is constantly shifting the colors depending on the temperature. They're supposed to "lock" the colors so they will only monitor a range from say 20° to 100°F.
This way during a shot, the color shifting as the device rearranges its color scale - won't be interpreted as movement, since it would be eliminated.

Constantly on taps the camera guys look away from the action or sompletely hack their framing. They are either the worst cameramen on the planet of any age or they know its fake and are focussed on the drama.
A real pro camera guy would never look at the investigators. they might ave the investigator in the shot on a side but the focal point would be whatever the real subject is which is GHOSTS. so next time the camera guy gives up the 5million dollar shot to look at a freaked idiot... u know

the point i made about cameramen ... is that they are taught (pros at least older than 12 years old) know never to shoot away from the "ACTION". If the investigators are looking at something...you think the video guy wants to give up immortality to shoot away from the chance to catch the first real ghost or demon EVER? They are taught to keep filming with bombs going off around them.
no pro shoots away EVER from the 5 billion dollar chance shot of a real ghost...unless he knows nothings there.

Very impressive analysis! You put a lot of hard work into this, and I believe you are correct. As others are saying, you should present this to TAPS, as it is unfortunate this made it to the client.
Some are saying this is evidence of them faking, but it is only evidence of them making a mistake. They are human beings walking around in the dark. They won't be correct 100% of the time.

To me, their characterizations of the alleged paranormal events are so biased it's hard to watch without yelling at the TV. They make it sound as though every sound they think they hear has some attachment to the story of the location. A door creeks and they tell us it must be the guy that shot his family then himself giving us a sign. The GHI is even worse in my opinion. Nice work BTW.

ok i have to say if you watch the termail footage again they would have had to pass the doorway to get to the mirror and at the time jay saw this grant was still fairly close to the door and you see absolutly no outline of a door so based on that its hard to find you as correct however they also had the IR or w/e cam set up i am sure they did compare the two to see if Jay had hit the mirror at all while he was turning

The doorway you mention is the closet door. At 3:02 Grant points out the TV, at 3:04 Jason identifies the closet and then the image appears, the whole time the camera is panning left to right. If you are referring to the IR camera on top of the TV, that was only there when they entered the room. You will notice it is gone from the comparison night vision shot. Showing that IR angle would indeed reveal the full pan of his camera. Thank you for your comments.

You have to remember that at that point they are only a couple of feet from the mirror, not the 6 to 8 feet from the original capture. Also, the only way to explain the lack of a lower body of the original capture, is the books and items on the dresser in front of the mirror blocking any thermal reflections. this isnt fake. they show where they found it in the room. At 3:04 he said "and theres the closet" which is where you see the figure. The mirror wasnt on the closet door at all, and the rocking chair was right in front of it. And how come when they point the camera on the same place afterwards, the "reflection" is not there? plus they would be smart enough to know that it was a reflection.

Watch that sequence over again a couple of times beginning at 3:01. Watch the panning speed (left to right motion) of the left video compared to the right video. The pan on the right video is almost twice as fast as the one on the left, they aren't synchronized at all.

Unfortunately TAPS isn't consistent with the color palettes they select on the FLIR. The particular FLIR they are using offers Rainbow, Rainbow HC, Gray (White Hot), Gray (Black Hot) and Iron for the color palettes. I think if you watch the video again, you will see that they have chosen "Gray (Black Hot)" and therefore white is cold and black is hot. You will see the temperature scale to the right of the thermal image. Thank you for the comment.
