You got that right!From the late 60's all the way to the late 80's,G.M. made some of the best cars they have ever produced.If they went back to the same formula,or improved upon it, people would not resort to buying Hondas and Toyotas. It is frustrating to say the least to spend thousands of dollars on a car and it won't do what it is supposed to do most of the time. I hate to admit this, but the best cars I have owned recently have been Hondas and Toyotas. I get a new one every couple of years.

What amazes me most when i see videos like this is.....at one point that was a new car sitting at a dealership. Agree with one previous comment - this car had the misfortune of probably a few folks who should never own a car.
I have a 1989 9C1 with 265,000 miles on the original engine (no rebuilds). The quotes I have seen for the LO5 police 350 TBI say 195 HP. TBI 305's were around 180. My 1989 is currently out of action since the frame rusted out. I ended up getting a used BMW just for that "stiff tight suspension feel" that I missed from my '89 9C1 with the F41 sport/police suspension - and a junky 1994 9C1 since then, but the '89 is still my favorite. I also own a Ford Ranger.
Looks like 3rd gear clutches were out, I kept hearing it shift out into nothing. As to the guy who thinks a 305 is as good as a 350 and uses less gas, *snicker*
you guys are lame, you wouldnt even hit that jump faster than like 10mph.. by the way.. 305's suck,they have the worst bore to stroke ratio of any GM small block a 350 will outlast it and make twice the power. 305's dont make sh*t for power, even a 283 or a 302 can make more power than a 305.

in 1989 the 305 in the caprice had 180HP, was also the first year for fuel injection in those cars. i had 3 caprices, 1988 1989 and now have an 83. and they all got between 17 and 20 mpg
No way man Toyota camry =the most bland car ever. I love those old caprices and they might be slow but they have a nice cushy comfortable ride and they're reliable. I still see lots of them on the road today.

Additionally, it's a Caprice, the 65-96 Caprice/Impala are the best cars ever made, literally, when you take all the different categories into the equation, reliability, popularity, styling, performance, ride, and handling. What amazes me most when i see videos like this is.....at one point that was a new car sitting at a dealership. Agree with one previous comment - this car had the misfortune of probably a few folks who should never own a car.

I have a 1989 9C1 with 265,000 miles on the original engine (no rebuilds). The quotes I have seen for the LO5 police 350 TBI say 195 HP. TBI 305's were around 180. My 1989 is currently out of action since the frame rusted out. I ended up getting a used BMW just for that "stiff tight suspension feel" that I missed from my '89 9C1 with the F41 sport/police suspension - and a junky 1994 9C1 since then, but the '89 is still my favorite. I also own a Ford Ranger.

you guys are lame, you wouldnt even hit that jump faster than like 10mph.. by the way.. 305's suck,they have the worst bore to stroke ratio of any GM small block a 350 will outlast it and make twice the power. 305's dont make sh*t for power, even a 283 or a 302 can make more power than a 305.

now thats a crock of shit cuz i had an 85 impala an it was fucking stock an it thru ur head back in the shit when you punched it an it had a 305 small block mined you i tuned it up a bit, but still 305's got enough fuckin jam! there are way easier on gas anyways oh big fucking deal 350 25 more horsepower, the piont is dont bag the engine bag the driver

in 1989 the 305 in the caprice had 180HP, was also the first year for fuel injection in those cars. i had 3 caprices, 1988 1989 and now have an 83. and they all got between 17 and 20 mpg

No way man Toyota camry =the most bland car ever. I love those old caprices and they might be slow but they have a nice cushy comfortable ride and they're reliable. I still see lots of them on the road today.

I just wanted to add, that car seemed like it would make a good daily driver for someone. Why ruin it? That's a sin. Additionally, it's a Caprice, the 65-96 Caprice/Impala are the best cars ever made, literally, when you take all the different categories into the equation, reliability, popularity, styling, performance, ride, and handling. They're surprisingly good cars and anyone who doesn't like them is not a car enthusiast.

If it was a rusted-out wreck, this would be a worthy end for it, but this looked like a decent car when it was on the trailer. Why destroy a good one? These were the last of the good cars GM once built. My 1986 Caprice has 560,000 KM on the original 305/700R4 drivetrain and it is not for sale!

The high output quad 4 had 185-190 hp stock!! Those engines are nice. 305 was slow as shit but that engine will go FOREVER. GM rocks!

the 305 isnt as fast as a 350 but there still pretty fast i have an 84 c20 truckwith a 305 in it with half a million miles on it (original motor) and its still fast and still does nice burnouts to

well now i wouldnt say all that...the LS1 camaro and trans ams will do a number on the stang, and the police interceptor crown vic compared to a LT1 caprice 9C1 cant hold a candle..and by the way, the maruader was based on the 94-96 impala SS.
