  • it could be a possibility that C1: no isomers: methane is a part of the way one can go into another dimension, per say mesotartaric acid and take the method in a mathematical form why has anyone not done this or try it?

  • watch Dan Burish n youtube. ex-area51 scientist. that worked with aliens for years in reverse engineering.. basically Aliens -greys ..are ex-humans time travelers from up to 50,000 years in the future.. they moved to ~Sirus ..and they are looking to fix problems they have now in their planet..where they live by changing their past.. ( our present.). the ideas that troubles.. string scientist..about paralel universe are very basic stuff for them. reality is more incredible than movies.

  • cockblock flugelhorn

  • Its so exciting... To think what we'll know and what we will evolve into in the next 1-2000 years. But its also terrifying. On the evolutionary scale 2000 yrs really is nothing. But will Islam/Religion/Politics allow these select few truly enlightened individuals to guide us through even the next 50 years?

  • This is so interesting. So this means there are an infinite numbers of me by definition.

  • @Graham6762

if i'm not mistaken yes, u exist at every possible location at every possible time in potentially a series of parallel universes

  • @tksmkwd2 Why does that make perfect sense to me? It simply feels false for it not to be the case. These ideas always troubled me even as a small child but I was too young to manifest my questions in to words. Its so wonderful have videos like this posted.

  • @Graham6762

and infinite numbers of universes in which you have lived and already died

  • could each cross rd we come to i.e life changing choices big or small create a parrelel universe where u take the other chioce rather than the 1 u have chosen. both universes play out but the universe we choose is the 1 we see ?

  • Hell of a cut-off, with the blaring trumpets. Interesting though. I think they tried to insert some of the string theory into the Law of Probability (maybe last video), but other than that excellent. I don't think that the fact that repeated tests will have varying results (due to environment) necessarily means that if you do the test once, all possible results are played out in other universes, but I might just be showing my ignorance. Thanks.

  • what??????? it was getting more interesting

  • the music totaly ruined this show damn i was into it

  • what I dont understand is they have spent so much time educating people, telling them that gravity is not an invisible force....its just an effect large amounts of mass has on "warping" the space around it....and this is what keeps the planets in orbit...then they talk about the force of gravity leaking into other dimensions....ITS JUST A WARPING OF SPACE FROM A LARGE BODY OF MATTER....why would it "leak" anywhere? Gravity will affect as far as the space is warped and no more than that

  • @Metamorphosis33 That's kind of closed minded thinking there, sport!

Gravity seems to be a weak cousin of electromagnetic and the strong and weak nuclear forces. It doesn't seem logical that something that has so much collective power would be so comparatively weak in proof.

The warping that Einstein suggests in space may not be the extent of gravity's effect on our universe.

Why is that hard to understand?

The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.

  • @Slapnutzmalone plus gravity travels in the speed of light same as the photon , its basically illogical to think that gravity would be weaker than the electromagnetic force if it travels at the same velocity hence they should -im not saying that im right- have the same magnitude

  • Am I not the only one who notices the leaps of logic these guys make?

  • @theathiestguy Nope. Im with ya. These guys have always bugged me cause of this.

  • Comment removed

  • haha, cut offfff @ 8:04

  • stake101 - yes, life is a roller-coaster ride. you paid for your ticket, now sit back and enjoy the view.

  • I think kakau is wrong I belive Elvis is dead in all universas.

  • Gravity can seep off into those tiny extra dimensions.......nooooooooo!

  • Not only is there an Elvis alive in another universe, there's also one who can't sing, can't dance, looks horrific, and doesn't eat burgers! Boggles the mind.

  • Using Gravity to see if theres more universes sounds Awesome, like Gravity Phones Green reffered to in the NOVA. Sounds so cool. Sounds like gravity is the key to everything.

  • Let's just hope this universe is the one that we become type 3 life forms!!

  • ...simply dont know yet

  • as for the uncertainty principal it might be influenced by possible dimensions beyond our own which if it we're possible to study may give an answer as to why in this dimension it seems uncertain but if we could analyze other dimensions and their influence maybe we'd reach a certainty as to why it happens in the dimensions we can study, there's a lot we just don't yet understand and from what we know the uncertainty principle appears to be true, but without all the pieces of the puzzle we...

  • pictures at exhibition!!! hurray

  • Fascinating.

    HermesAlchemist

  • wtf!?! i was digging greene's ideas about gravity in other dimensions & its implications. what a gyp

  • could it be possible for the strings to be tuned to a different frequency of the light spectrum??

  • Why this guy always use word..we can't...we can't ...is he some cone physic

  • @ atircash, math is not just a tool, math can be applied and used for everything around you, every word in every laungage of the word has a mathmatical number attached to it.

  • The thing is... what observations in nature is this String Theory based on, exactly?

I heard him talk about some property of space that was to wild for Einstein's theory, but we know that Einstein's theory doesn't stroke with Quantum Mechanics to begin with. And we do know that the latter works.

Actually it seems to me we're currently in a painful transition in our understanding of physics. First there was Newton to Einstein, now there's Einstein to... can't get it yet!

  • Well... maybe the answer will just have to come from another branch of science... namely the rapidly advancing of genetics.

If things keep going at this rate maybe we can eventually artificially breed a brilliant physicist to figure it all out. Someone for who weird quirks of physics would actually be intuitive.

Hey, it's a better use then building baby's who look like schwarzenegger and will grow up to have giant genitals! (Although it's I suppose, not mutually exclusive.)

  • @Shavarnarak

lol, you don't just breed smart people. If you have taken biology and living environment, then you would know that the environment has more of an effect on an inidividual's smartness than his DNA.

It will fail also, because you are going to trap some baby with "smart" genes in a glass box and at the same time educate him to make him smart. At some point he will detest and want out of the box so he can pursue his own passions and be free because he got too smart.

  • @Shavarnarak

observation in nature in the workings of the everyday world at a macroscopic size where there is relativity is one observation of nature. The observation at a microscopic size with teleporting electrons is of another.

Now the problem is how can electrons teleport and human beings not? This is the exact kind of paradox existing between macroscopic and microscopic that string theory basis itself mathematically upon.

  • so what do you suggest we do? how can we gain knowledge in a way which doesn't involve our minds?

6: if you believe physics has been dead for over 50 years you obviously don't know anything about physics. the human race has made more technological progress in the last 50 years than in any other period in history. this is largely due to the development and application of quantum mechanics.

  • I was referring to theoretical physics ( read my statement again) and to me it has been dead for more than 50 years. Obviously during that time great technological progress has been achieved but that has nothing to do with theoretical physics.

You again make a mistake: We have no way but to use our mind, BUT we dealing with physics here: as such we have to start with physical ideas and then use the feeble math to give it some structure.

  • @atircash

math is not as feeble as you think.

Without theoretical physics, you would not have most of the technologies today. Theoretical physics is explanation of phenomenon occurring in our universe by mathematics, so you can say that anything that requires math to explain something is technically theoretical physics.

  • 4: Einstein spent the last days of his life trying to unify all the laws of physics so in that sense he may be pleased by the unification present in string theory. Even if he didn't like the current state of physics as great as einstein was he was stubborn, he didn't believe in quantum mechanics which is the most successful theory ever produced by the human race - FACT.

5: In the same way that maths is a creation of our minds ANY idea we have is a creation of our minds.

  • 5. Quantum mechanics (which Michio Kaku called the ugliest theory ever created by man) for me (as for Einstein and his followers) is only an approximation theory, a 100% STATISTICAL theory. As such it can not be the "last word" and has to be used as an approximation. A true theoretical physicist looks for TRUTH, the reality underlining the physical world and that what Einstein was looking for.

    6. Math is only a tool, physical world demands our "physical" intuition.

  • physicists don't just pluck mathematical relations and operators out of thin air and hope that they work. they always have to start with postulates based on observations of the universe and how they believe the universe works.

3: The point of theories is to explain observations not to predict outcomes. theories can only be disproved by observations contrary to their predictions, they can never be confirmed by successful predictions.

  • Atircash, 1: There are not an infinite number of formulations of maths because maths must be logically consistent and for every logically consistent formulation there are infinitely more logically inconsistent formulations.

2: theories of physics DO start with physical understanding, such as the principle of least action, the mathematics simply models what is observed as accurately as possible.

  • qwerty86567, 1: If we had more imagination we could created more profound and consistent maths. As far as logic: did u know that even calculus (on which all our math is based) has unresolved contradictions and inconsistencies; Euclidean geometry suffers from the same. What does that do to your "logic"? The finite number of math formulations is only the result of lack of imagination of mathematicians.

  • 2: I would rephrase that: GOOD theories of physics start with physical understanding. But bad theories like strings have zero physical bases and are nothing but science fiction with complex math.Compare this to Einstein's method: relativity of time and space, curvature of space, constancy of speed of light, equivalence principle, and so on; that's real physics. Contrast this with what stringists say: "Our GOD math tells us that there're 10 dimensions, so that's our theory". Truly pathetic.

  • Consider this hypothetical. What if someone had postulated the existence of quarks sometime in the 17th century? Let's say they had mathematical proof that such a thing could exist, yet no way of knowing it existed until the advent of particle colliders 300 years later. Could you call this theory bogus because they lacked the equipment to test it? How do you know that 300 years from now they won't be able to determine the existence of strings? It's called theoretical physics for a reason.

  • @fightforyourrights9 : Testing string theory will be possible perhaps in couple of thousand years not in 300 years. So the theory in practical sense is useless. But I was not even referring to that: my objections to string theory are of philosophical nature: it has no physical bases, it's pure math. Even the physical ideas that it generates are the result of math. Plus its based on the uncertainty principle which is a joke. Just ask the greatest physicist ever :Einstein!

  • Even if it takes 2000 years to test and disprove string theory, it doesn't make the theory totally useless. In the grand scheme of things, 2000 years is nothing. If humans can avoid destroying each other, we could be around for millions more years. We could develop incredible technologies in that time to help us test the theory. Even if it is proven wrong, maybe we will learn something from its failure. Even failed theories can be useful in eventually discovering the truth.

  • @fightforyourrights9 Damn the dark ages also :(

  • @fightforyourrights9 Well string theory is better then nothing right? After Einstein science must go on, and what we have come up with so far is a good start for the final deal, atleast its something future scientists can work with.

  • @nils4545 have you ever read about the possibility of the Chemical polarity as in water we are 70% of that why have they not let quantum theory portray this indeed... Parallel Universe exists and so does Time Travel...

  • @atircash Einstein was considered "crazy" for his formulas and ideas. He was only recognized for his great accomplishments near death or afterwards. This man might be on to something, maybe the next 100 years everyone will be talking about him like we are today about Einstein.

  • @atircash

seems like the only pathetic one here is you.

I will start with the fact that you acknowledge the certain truths of Einstein's theories. Then I see that you wrote; bad theories like strings have zero physical basis. In fact you have created contradictions in the meaning of your words as you implied and said Einstein's "methods" had physical basis but they certainly had not when he first mathematically formulated them. FYI, string theory does start with physical understanding.

  • Mathematics has no objective reality: it is 100% product of our minds, its our creation. But we did not create the universe, the physical world. So to understand the universe we MUST start with physical ideas and go from there. Otherwise contrived garbage theories like strings with 10 dimensions all we get. Why? Because there no more great physicists left, only mathematicians. And the latter of the two create new branches of math and call it physics. Physics has been dead for 50+ years.

  • @atircash

MATH IS NOT A PRODUCT OF OUR MINDS!

This is for the fact that there are equations out there we do not know of but are true in explaining our physical universe.

The mind only governs mathematical conceptions in the way of symbols and numbers, but in reality, humans have no clue how these symbols with values TRUELY LOOK LIKE! Symbols as 1,2,3 and etc are products of our mind because we created them but mathematical values and truth are not of our creation.

  • I cant believe that Greene got cut off when he was talking about how gravity travels into parallel worlds (coolest shit ever). And Michio didnt even get to say "it was a pleasure to have you on the show and thank you so much for talking with us", you know that kind of stuff.

  • I figure Greene is intelligent enough to handle such trivial reality. but the cut off did sound a little odd. might just have been editing if the show isn't live.

  • You aren't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, are you. This is only part 3!

  • My apologies, I hadn't watched all the way through before judging you so harshly. Forget it rifleman bob, its youtube.

  • apology accepted :)

  • 6:35 approx. I was watching another program where they perpose that gravity is "leaking" into our universe from the other dimention(s) and that is a possible reason it is the weakest force. also could sound be one of the other dimentions? If every molecule has a vibration....??

  • The Almighty created the universe with his own mathematics different from ours. So the only way for us is to go Einsteins way: start with a deep physical picture and then use our feeble math to approximation reality. The problem with strings is that it's basically another branch of our feeble math and has little to do with physical world. Therefore stringists arrive at endless contradictions and then try to fit the physical world into the math picture: it has to be the other way around.

  • What do you mean by "his own mathematics?" Mathematics are unchangeable, stable, secure- there is only one mathematics- if something cannot be tested or proven with mathematics it isnt scientific

  • Our math is only one possible math: there are infinite possible maths that can be created, the problem is humans are not smart enough so we have only one and try to fit the physical world into mathematical structure. It has to be done in reverse: first we need a deep physical picture and then use our feeble math to try to give our ideas some structure and predicting ability. That's what Einstein did. He would be soooo disappointed if he sow the modern theories!

  • @atircash

you and your absurd reasoning......I guess if there are infinite universes, then there is a chance your absurd reasoning might actually be true in that certain universe, but I am sorry to say that such absurd reasoning does not reflect our universe.

  • 7:58 FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

  • Why the music cut him off in the middle of the conversation ? IT was getting interesting.

  • Notice of the number of veiwers dwindling every video, this went a little over peoples heads...

  • also, I randomly clicked on this video after hearing a portion of it on the radio in my car days earlier. . .

  • That is to say, something else ubiquitous rules in the other dimension? Light has always been synonymous with God, lucidity, protection, etc. in comparitive mythology.

  • If light does not exist in the other dimensions of the many worlds theory, are we (were we to travel there) outside of the dimension ruled by "God"

  • @gaelicfawn

Good news: the fact that there are infinite universes means that there might be one with "god", although he might not be the absolute creator of all.

Secondly, how do we not know that there was a civilization 100 billion years more advanced than ours that sent a meteor big enough to not destroy earth and yet kill the dinosaurs so that these beings can put our ancestors on earth? And we being the image of them? Of course, this might be of a parallel universe.

  • Well, your comments reflect your knowledge about it..hehe.. good work !

  • So, what did i got from these videos ?

i got 1 video, the second, third, fourth and the first, second, third, fourth .... it starts with theory to go back to theory where it starts..

  • its called THEORETICAL physics...

  • welcome to the universe asshole.

  • every body loves music but it doest exitest but when you listen to a song you love it take you some where else but you are still in the room when you open your eyes so the mind has no limit it can fly it can go back in time and have sex with .........!! lol

  • worlds within our world looks like the twilit zone but it is possible than again anything is possible.

  • thanks for this, this is very interesting

  • Physics is beautiful but they've hit a point where our known tools (maths) aren't sophisticated enough.I hope we can come up with a new number set or something... I mean, we can't even nail down the whole value of Pi, how can we ever hope to calculate upon the particle that makes the particles that make the atom?

  • From what I understand, music is the new math.

  • True(?) value of pi is not important.

We need to be in a world where science has to become more sacred rather than a exploitive tool in the hands of military-industrial think tank, in order to move to the next phase of our understanding of Physics or reality structure.

Humanity has not evolved spiritually enuf on collective levels to deserve such understanding.

  • @igoronline

It is all a matter of time. Through time we evolve physically and mentally just like when we were unicellular organisms to where we are now. And that is only in some million years!! Now imagine what we would be like in 1 BILLION years!

  • if your in a box and you go in a new box can you get out of the box? no not at all

  • jellybeansinc, have you ever read Brian Greene's books?

  • no, I am kind of confined to determinism--but I will try my best to read it with an open mind.

  • thank you very much for this video. it is very fascinating to listen to two brilliant minds in the language that nonphysicists could almost understand. kaku seemed to be milking greene's brain for the benefit of the audience which is wonderful.

  • I wanna go to the Universe where Jolson is still living, please.

  • u cannot go coz that state of the universe has expired already

  • Using gravity amplifiers, we can explore the other dimensons.

  • go on

  • From 4:16 to 4:42 Kaku sounds like a New Age believer. It just made me laugh.

Don't get me wrong I think New Age beliefs are pretty silly.

It was just funny listening to that little bit and doing it with the perspective of, say, of a person from the 1900's.

I truly am glad I live in this age and era.

We ARE the future of those old generations. It's cool to be able to have this level of knowledge.

  • first of all, -nothing- can be proved. Second of all, they are openly admitting they don't have proof, its theory. If you are not interested in things that make your head hurt, don't watch.

  • I'm sure you have studied this very close to be able to say it is bullshit. How come less educated people always are so sure about how things work?

  • The proof is in the math. The equations are pretty easy to find, actually.

  • to say that many worlds interparation is best to chose from you would have to be baised to classical assumptions to accept that conclusion, as far as direct observational evidence it is less assuming to say that observation results in wavefuntion collapse, of course that would upset western philosophy so I can understand why classical assumptions are favored. I think is just cultural.

  • Hey man where is the part 4 of this show. I saw 1,2,3 partsb but i can't locate the 4th part. Post the url of the 4th part here as comment

  • part 4 is posted in youtube 5th dimension...

  • eh?

  • Na, you can go into the other higher dimensions because I have been there...

  • sorry, hallucinogenic mushrooms don't count as going to higher dimensions.

  • have you ever tried them?

  • should it matter? they alter perception, not the fundamental aspects of reality or you're ability to see them

  • ""sorry, hallucinogenic mushrooms don't count as going to higher dimensions.""

    Says who?

  • how about OTHER dimensions (of perspective)? With that in mind, what dimension of our experience does not depend on perspective?

  • our mathematics are wrong

  • wow this makes me feel stupid

  • Dis shit is interestin' as a mutherfucker, yo.

It make me wanna know more 'n' shit.

Be keepin' my brain all phat wit' intelligence 'n' shit.

  • word...

  • preach!

  • ok, i know this sounds nutty, but it's a fun thought. since we humans have the ability to imagine. imagine that what possibilities (or probabilities) may occur if we make one decision versus another. frank example is the decision to go to college or not. very different lives. by the mere fact that we can imagine this, is this some possible way that we are existing among multiple universes, the fact that we can imagine an outcome means we can peer into another universe?

  • i think dark matter being mass in a paralel dimension is the best explanation we have... we have a map of this matter yet it has no mass, and as gravity is not restricted like mass in its ability to move in separate dimensions i do think there is a good chance this is correct, however... the mind bogels :)

  • I'm really puzzled by what he said at 6:30. Should we consider dark matter another dimension? Is dark energy the edge of a parallel universe?

    I'd probably never find out.

  • sometimes i have my mind wrapped around this...and then *pop*
