  • @vorevox Then why are u watching this u asshole ur no better that a extremist maniac you obviously don't Care about 9/11

  • BONO IS A CUNT!!

  • I love what you added. Awesome performance and song I cry and get chills everytime very moving Bono rox

  • great man thanks!!

  • more than 9 years ago and still is the best halftime show and best tribute to 9/11

  • The terrorist had no idea we could be happy after 9/11..WE...ARE...AMERICA

    U2 ftw

  • Bono knows what we went through during those attacks. Bono grew up in an terrorized part of ireland during the 1970s.

  • Very nice job! Captions are awesome! RIP to all on that day!!

  • RIP Sgt. Timothy Roy, FF John Heffernan and every other innocent soul lost. People are still dieing from God awefull cancers from inhalation of toxins.

  • I added this to my favorites cause it's a great show, a great song and a great tribute by a band.... Then I had to remove it because it's was all fucked up with that bullshit ranting of that fucking waste of human flesh, George Bush.... Shame on you for trying to make that criminal look good by swinging his name off the ballsack of this tribute.

  • Beautiful Video FreeBird914. Brought a tear to my EYE!!

  • still can't believe it ... fuck bin laden and those motherfuckers . screw them , burn in hell terrors. you'll desirve it . nuke those fcking ass !

  • We all came together then, but we all need to come together now, and finish the job and wipe Bin Laden and al quaida off the map, forever!

  • bono is half protestant/catholic, adam clayton is english protestant and the edge is welsh jewish, larry mullen jr. irish catholic . Magnificent song. Leave religion and politics out of it.

  • @desdecks19 Edge isn't Jewish, his wife is.

  • This makes me so fucking proud to be American

  • why are they singing the tribute to martin luther king as a tribute to september 11th? I'm not trying to be disrespectful i adore the song I am merely perplexed.

  • This is the best superbowl halftime show that will be ever done. George Bush was right when he was talking about 9-11 and how it brought everyone together. Everyone united and came together as one to make a difference.

  • best superbowl performance ever

  • The world would do more for Bono than any wall street puppet elected..which is what we need..think we all know who real terrorists are wtfup!

  • God Bless America and may the terrorists rot in hell.

    US Army Captain- 9/12/01- Present

  • I thought of another great use for this video and audio. It should be broadcase over Armed Forces radio. And remember when the helicopters approached the shoreline in Vietnam in the film Appocolypse Now. How about this audio blaring from speakers as Appache and Black Hawk helicopters approach villages in Iraq and Afghanistan. That would be a site to see and hear.

  • Only U2 could pull this off.

I cried like a baby when I heard MLK live for the first time since 1987.

  • An American tribute ... by the most Irish Catholic band ever.

Leave it to Bono, Edge and Larry Mullen to allow their religious background to help them strive to make this world a better place .... through intervention, healing or education.

  • MLK is the perfect opening to this song, hope they do perform it like this again!

  • Muslims did not attack you, terrorists did! Big difference!

  • I love when Bono quotes scripture at the begginning of the song. U2 is one of the best rock bands of all time!

  • Easily, the best band in the world.

  • i saw u2s very first show at the ritz nyc, next year the guys will be 50 years old g-d bless them.

  • What...are you nuts!!! we were attacked by muslims on 9/11 and palestinians are muslims!! you cannot compare them at all...in any way shape or form!!

  • you cannot compare the muslims ...that's right...muslims to THIS video...it was muslims that attacked us and palestinians are muslims...so don't go there.

  • I was there...part of the 9/11 rescue crew, and again at Super Bowl..NFl gave us tickets to go. Let me tell you folks, thsi is up with there the most incredible night of my life.

  • i have no idea who you are but may God bless you for your service. I watch the 911 television shows and could not imagine what you went through.........LOVE YOU!!!!

  • R.I.P the innocent and burn in hell terrorists

  • ***** 5 stars!

  • As an intelligent American and one that was in NYC when it happened I have to state that this is powerful, but our government brought this on us. Why are we policing the world? They hate us for our freedom? Bullshit!! They hate us for occupying their countries and having bases everywhere. I'm not unpatriotic but having bases in all four corners of the world looks like an invasion. Who wants to be invaded? Not us, why should they? Let's focus on our own and let the UN decide. Are we world cops?

  • Dangerous enemies have declared their intention to destroy our way of life... The attacks were meant to bring us to our knees, and they did, but not in the way the terrorists intended. Americans united in prayer, came to the aid of neighbors in need, and resolved that our enemies would not have the last word. The spirit of our people is the source of America's strength. And we go forward with trust in that spirit, confidence in our purpose, and faith in a loving God who made us to be free.

  • thanks for that buddy!! I agree

  • Man....I can never watch any Super Bowl XXXVI video without getting teary eyed. Sad because of 911, happy because of the Patriots. Best super bowl ever

  • this halftime show/superbowl couldnt've been more perfect/fitting

  • Thanks G*** I've found this one. I watched in awe how U2 did this great live performance!

GREAT and AWESOME! 1 year after this cowardly attack -not only against the U.S., but against the whole free world it was the right thing to remind the terrorists we were still alive and that they had failed!

  • I can't believe I was in the building.....this is a great moment in american sports history. Very emotional....what a performance

  • just remember who won that superbowl :)

  • Ok you think you can take about 5 seconds to think about something other than football?

  • actualy yes i can, and this is cool that they did this, im just trying to remind myself others who one, thats all

  • God bless the shores of Eire for producing such talent.

Maith thú U2, Bail ó Dhia ort.

  • The captions you dubbed-in were the perfect touch.

Of all the differant versions of this particular performance floating around Youtube, I'd say this is the one :-)

  • Wow, that's a major compliment, w5pda... thanks so much!

  • You're most welcome.

Even if it's only with a few kind words of thanks, a good job should be rewarded :-)

  • FreeBird: On each and every September 11th the NSA should jam Aljazeera's Satelite feeds and replace it with your 6 minute version of one of the best performances ever. It stands for everything we are about and what they hate. Its a giant F to that part of the world.

    Are You With Me?

  • brilliant, good song to

  • the way teh planed the 36 is so great for all the men and women how died

  • I love this. Its so like emotional.

  • brilliant, very nice song

  • the first part before the guitar starts was what my dad use to sing to me every night

  • Really? Wow, that's pretty cool.

My mom used to sing "Good Night, Sweetheart" to me every night. ^__^

    watch?v=TcV5zmQPeKo

  • As much as I hate W that was a good quote at the beginning

  • i want his jacket

  • No doubt about it. The best half time performance ever and probably never will be matched. U2 just brought the house down that night.

  • By far the best Super Bowl performance ever.

  • I agree.

  • most amazing 15 minutes in rock an roll history

  • WOW!AMAZING!

  • kool

  • Brings me back to when I saw that half time show. I remember the names on the screen, horrifying. Reminds me how much I love my country and how much I miss my friends from New York.

  • very emotional superbowl, seems like yesterday.

  • i know many of you will give me a thumbs down but emotionally, this was one of the best super bowls so far. i mean with that big screen showing all of the victims of september eleventh. then u2 rocking out in style, and lastly the patriots winning this game when they were complete underdogs in the first place. god u got to love america!:)

  • I remember this halftime show (I was 7).

  • Who better than a team known as the Patriots to walk away with the victory in the wake of war?

  • As I watched the vidio you posted tears ran down my face and my heart was overwhelmed. I watched the oridginal live on T.V. but watching this vidio so many years later made me feel so intense that "We Will Never Forget". Thank You.

  • Every time they do this song, there's an enraptured audience of tens of thousands without an angry or violent thought in their bodies. It's WAY more than enjoying just kickass musical performance. It's a giant group hug... with happy tears of joy. For hope, for beauty, for peace. God bless U2... and all of us who seek goodness in each other throughout the world. HAPPY 2008!!!!!!

  • the best halftime show ever!!!! god bless america from a brazilian in america!! peace out

  • Hope they enjoyed Penny Lane... The Witness Tree.

  • this is the BEST superbowl halftime show i've ever seen.

  • The Best SuperBowl of all time! (Not A NE fan) But it was awesome. Great game, great coverage, and a super great halfitme show with a great band like U2.

  • Finally! a version of this show without all the political BS!!!! Thank you!!!

and a HUGE thank you to U2 for this... It was Amazing!!!

I think they are the only band brave enough to open with a Psalm.

  • greatest band in the world. opening with a psalm...perfect.

  • I agree, that's by far, by far the best half-time show I've ever seen (I saw it live in 2002).

  • God Bless AMERICA from an Englishman in Canada!!

  • VERY good. This is by far the most memorable super bowl...well...besides the super bowl 38. The one with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake. Thats all you need to know. But on a serious note, well but together and we will always remember.

  • "Father, open my lips. My mouth shout forth thy praise."

Prayer at the Super Bowl Halftime Show? Perhaps that is the reason why this was the BEST halftime show ever...

  • I actually didn't this halftime show 5 years ago... I came across it on the net about a month ago.

But yeah, I have to agree with ya in saying that it really is THE best halftime show I've ever seen.
