  • What is this pixel you speak of.

  • whoa this is old

  • what in the world is goldfish? ive never heard of that brand name before lol

  • Thanks for these videos!

I was coming close to buying an x800, but after watching these, I've decided not to purchase one.

  • The real question is why you are trying show the difference in screen quality on youtube which allows a resolution of no more than qvga and has crap compression for videos. Its equally as worthless as Blu-ray placing ads for their discs on SD DVDs.

  • I'm assuming you didn't watch the whole video. While yes, youtube only allows videos of a qvga resolution, this video raised many issues and also gave us a rough on how different the screens are. I found this video quite useful myself as regards to making a decision on buying one of these handheld devices.

  • I-mate Ultimate 8502 and 9502 will be (now for real) available worldwide in few weeks.

They're both VGA and datasheets place them on a little higher step than M800, especially for RAM (128MB vs 64MB). Let's hope this gap is for real and not only on paper.

Thank you for the video! It answered many questions.

  • Quite a number now, though E-ten is the main manufacturer of VGA smartphones (having the X500+, X650, M800 and the X800 of the review). Htc has the huge Advantage (Athena X7500), Qtek has the Universal (know also as I-mate Jasjar), and I-mate is introducing VGA in the whole new "Ultimate" series. Toshiba has his G900 WVGA screen (800x480).

No point in this kind of comparison though, the difference doesn't stand out with the video res and the lack of closer focusing...

  • Are there any other VGA smart phones on the market?

  • Sorry, replied you in another comment! =P

btw, I told "no point in this kind of comparison", but I meant "visually", while the issues regarding slower refresh and scrolling/zooming in vga devices is truly something important to stress: as long as WM keeps not supporting graphic chips, I'm afraid nothing will change. Besides VGA screens require more RAM (more data displayed) and more battery. I had for some years a Dell X50v, and even though the screen is fantastic, OS performance is quite poor.
