The HSBC Rugby Sevens World Series is indeed in Adelaide, Australia this year, on 2nd-3rd April. Wales have little chance of winning; Samoa, Fiji, New Zealand, England and South Africa are the rugby teams likely to win this leg of the World Series.
A touchdown is synonymous with the more commonly used term 'try' to signify a score effected by touching the ball down over the tryline. Touchdown is a legitimate word to denote a 5 point 'try' in rugby, you'll often hear commentators, coaches and players use touchdown instead of try. In American Football, a derivative of rugby, players no longer actually have to touch the ball down over the goal line, technically the touchdown therefore remains only in rugby.
Offside in rugby is more complex than offside in football. Different phases of the game have their own set of offside laws; offside in open play, offside at a scrum, offside at breakdown, offside at lineout and offside at a kick are all areas where rugby laws exist to govern the notion of offside.
@rowrowrowyourboat100 - correct but every time a tackle is made and a ruck or maul subsequently formed (about 300 tackles are made in an international match these days), offside does apply. Offside also applies at every set piece. Technically you could go and stand in the opposition in-goal area while they run through phases - as long as you don't interfere with play - and this wouldn't be an offense but you'd achieve nothing by doing so and would be penalized for offside at the next set piece.
@rowrowrowyourboat100 - I see what you mean; what you're talking about applies to the defending team. Offside does exist in open play for the attacking team. If a player is in front of a team-mate in possession of the ball, or in front of a team-mate who last played the ball, they will be offside if they actively try to play the ball, do not retreat within 10m of an opponent who is waiting for the ball, move towards the opponents or the place where the ball lands without first coming back onside
Rugby quarterbacks are divided into two groups of two players. Centre three-quarter backs and wing three-quarter backs. These two positions make up the quarterbacks on a rugby field and their principal role is in running attack as opposed to American Football quarterbacks who are playmakers more akin to rugby half-backs.
