Fantastic to see this young lady having such lovely long hair cut off in one piece like this. Yes she did seem a bit peeved once her ponytail had been severed from her head but she was expecting to see loose hair falling around her face as the scissors cut through it, not a tied back stump of hair being left. Her new short hairstyle looks really fabulous and suits her perfectly.

I have hair down to my thighs and it only took a year and ahalf from my mid back, to get long hair you should cut 1/2 in. to1 in every 4 to 6 weeks then it gets long very quicly. i know this, I am a hairstylist. so dont freak out, there hair will grow back to be cut off again.
When you cut your hair it lessens the wheight that is pulling on the root causing the follicle to feel light and start groing again. If your hair has split ends the hair ends up wheighing twice as much as a hair that is not split. Dont question my intelligance on the art of hair. I am the one who graduated Beauty School, dont believe me? Look it up on the internet, I WILL be CORRECT! MY logic?!? its a fact.
Ok then if it ends up been lighter and grows faster then doesn't it just go back to not growing as fast when it's reached the same length? if it's all down to the weight of the hair then wouldn't it be fair to say it's best to have your hair tied up? that way there's no weight dragging it down and will not have to be cut then.
Only if you stop cutting it every 4 to 6 weeks, you have to keep up on trimming it. No you cant just tie the hair up because the follicle still has the wheight pulling on it. And if you wear hair tied up to much it can cause the hair to stop growing after long periods of time. Just like if men wear a hat to much thay start getting a balled spot where the hat constantly rubs against the scalp.
I don't think it's that bad to grow out ur hair so long and decide to cut it.. How do you think that cancer patients and other people with certain conditions acquire "human hair" wigs.
