@EndIgnoranceb42012 im not the best person to ask but there are some programs that you can take like the student exchange program. Also you can study abroad there and you can ask to have a japanese host family for the city of college you want to go to.

that´s ridiculous. True, the radiation will hang around for a long LONG time, but that´s probably only the affected area even if there are other ways of getting hit with radiation.

If you couln´t be i japan, there would be nobody there... therefor... you CAN go to japan. Nevertheless, the repercussions of the radiation (regarding your own health) is vast.
