@penguinswilltakeover Are you in the UK? Because I'm pretty sure you guys are the only ones to see any F.N. episodes on DVD (region 2). If I'm not mistaken the only disc released contained maybe 4 or 5 episodes... There has never been a mass market release of Freddy's Nightmares on Region 1 DVD... (yeah, I know a lot of DVD players will play region 2 but I all ready own those episodes on VHS.) I'd like the full box set treatment.
I also own the actual 5 VHS Tapes that Warner Bros Released of the show. Which were the Pilot Episode "No More Mr. Nice Guy" "Dreams That Kill" "Freddy's Tricks and Treats" "Lucky Stiff" & "It's My Party, and You'll Die If I Want You To".
This original channel that aired this TV Series was on the local syndicated FOX Channel. The Original Channel that airs "Family Guy". This show started in the fall of October 8, 1988 and ran for 2 seasons, which was then canceled on March 12, 1990. I was 8 years on when this show came out. It aired every Saturday Night a long with "Tales From The Darkside" "Twilight Zone" "War Of The Worlds" & "Monsters". For more information about the show go to Wikipedia and type in: Freddy's Nightmares.
@Paul68595 Monsters was the shit but doesn't hold the test of time. TFTDS does pretty well. I dont remember War of the Worlds. Might have to google that.
@suspekt29 I've been also recently recording them straight to dvd myself from the Chiller Network. I have quite a few episodes now. They are a bit tame today though. Some are good. I also bought the first season of "Tales From The Darkside" on dvd. But like the other fans of that show, I am disappointed with the changing of the score music in some episodes for the dvd release.
@Paul68595 I am not sure why they would flip flop. If they had the go to do it for some, why not all. Does that include credits too? They did the same crap with Married With Children. My favorite Freddy episode was Killer Instinct. I was horrified by how that episode played out as a child. Whoever wrote the script for that, did it right!
@suspekt29 Apparently Paramount said it was because of copyright issues on "Darkside", but no, the opening them to "Darkside" is still as it was originally aired and the credits too. My favorite episode on Freddy's Nightmares is, "Missing Persons". "Killer Instinct" is good too. I just recently recorded yesterday "Do Dreams Bleed". Haven't watched it yet, same thing with the episode called "Safe Sex", still need to watch that one too.
@Paul68595 Thats a shame. I recorded mine from TV and I am ok with the 7/10 quality. Same as my Friday 13th the series. I dont remember the story titles well. However, I think it was pretty cutting edge how they would split the show into two half hour blocks and people from story 1 would continue on to story 2. Sadly, it just didn't have the budget. Anyone could have wrote a script back then. Hell Brad Pritt got his start there. If you like Freddy you should pick up Never Sleep Again DVD
@suspekt29 Yeah I thought about buying the "Never Sleep Again" dvd, but I am more of a "Friday The 13th" fan, myself. Excluding the re-make of both "F13" and "Nightmare" Those ruined the franchise for me. Sadly enough, they're also re-making "Hellraiser" which comes in 2nd best for me. I especially like "Hellbound: Hellraiser II". I wish they would leave these films alone and come up with something good.

The Reason Why this isn't on DVD yet in The US, is Because The Producers of New Line Cinema doesn't want to release it. But If you type in freddy's Nightmare there's a website that actual Sells The whole collection. I got my copy of the whole series from Japan...
even though the show wasn't that high quality it's still fun to watch because freddys in it. imagine if this show was on HBO back in the day. where they could have shows just like the movies with violence and cursing. would have been huge i think.
I remember when I was living in the Chicago area watching Freddy's Nightmares in late 1989 & early 1990 on WWOR on Saturday nights. It repeated later on NBC after midnight.
@iheartslashers At the time I got them from a trader. They were from the original air date so you can imagine what the video would have looked like after 20+ years. Once Chiller started showcasing them. I recorded them to my computer and made my own DVD. The quality is perfect if you can deal with the beveled chiller logo.
I can't believe I did not know about this show, I love Freddy Krueger, he's the best I've only watched the movies. They need to start making DVD's for this show right now.
I so love the series but will they ever put them out on dvd here it sucks I do what to see all of the ep and I like to see them on dvd. I do not get chiller and it will be nice to see it.
