Just because five singers in Trinidad sing the same song, it does not mean one is better than the other because they each had a different and unique version to the song.
when u say the sookdeo sookraj version, explain....r u trying to impersinate him?....cuz he just sang over the song with less variation than ramdhanie sharma
Most people are only familiar with the Sookdeo Sookraj version though many singers resang each other song, no one owns a song especially this one which is an exerpt out of the Ramayan. Issac Yankarran was the orginal singer to the Durpad Na Bikat, but Jameer Hoosien resang the song, which a invocation praising each hindu diety. So what is your point. I would like you to place a taan style song from yourself on here, but for you it is impossible, don't knock the game if you cant do any better.
hmmmm....quite a challenge...maybe i would..here's what the NCIC ( national council of indian culture ) is hosting a nationwide taan singing competition there. i will update u on the correct date... so you could come participate..... p.s be careful when u challenge, you really dont know who is game!
There's always been competition as to who can sing better than who in classical singing in Trinidad. Even between the drummers, which is what made the music better for the people to listen to. The competition in turned elevated the quality and styling of classical where singers and drummers alike picked up and created new styles of singing the same songs.
Trinidad, Guyana, and Surinam, we all are the same people for the most part. You know the history. We all from the same region in India. So we all talented fuh so ent? Thanks for posting this nice performance.
