the best part is getting ready for a 12 hour transatlantic flight .... watching the ramp crew fuel up the plane, check the engines, close all the hatches, etc.
while praying that they are having a good day (i.e. no one came to work pissed off) and don't miss anything important
@batman12191 totally disagree...just the thought of the thrust involved in generating enough power to lift an "object" of that size off of the ground in and of itself is amazing. To experience it firsthand is beyond exhillarating.
Frankfurt airport is so big, I couldn't believe it! The airport seems so long. Even after that long takeoff there was still so much left of the airport.
I concur ... Lufthansa is my first airline of choice if i need to be somewhere on time. Their transatlantic service is good (pretty new planes with seats in the screens and all), food is good and cabin staff are pretty much on the ball.
I'd also recommend Virgin Atlantic for translatlantic flights (they have like 50 movies, lots of tv shows, video games and all for you to play, pause and switch at your own pace) .. virgin atlantic is just a lot of fun :-)
i flew them in late october to canada and the seats had stow pockets were the tvs should have been.... big dissapointment.. i like them, but any reason why they did that? are they waiting on the new 787s instead of retrofiting old planes? i dont mind, i got my iphone and laptop, but for other people it must suck... i fly again to frankfurt tomorrow from calgary, so i'll see if they changed...
oooh ok that sucks ... well sometimes this happens depending on what "plane" they have on a certain route cuz some planes have been upgraded while others may not have been. Occassionally when they take a plane offline for maintenance and slot another one in. Sometimes you can call ahead and ask what type of plane is going to be used for the flight on a particular day.
air canada too... PLUS they have AC plugs and USB connectors on each seat next to the large seat LCDs... ac power is a must for anyone with a laptop, and USB is awesome, coz you dont need to worry about conserving ipod battery
i would think they are the best airline you could get on that route. ive not done a trans atlantic flight with them but if their service on long flights are anything like short flights i dont think you'll be dissapointed
go air canada... big lcd screens, AC and USB plugs on all seats, and wider seats.... also, a lot of hte planes have been completely retrofited, and they actually look like the interior of the new 787, with the new cabin furniture, bathrooms, and changing color ambient lighting...

@jetfreak4 yup, great video but pretty obvious when they give the announcement in English first and then you hear the cabin crew say "United Economy"
