Thanks for the demo, you can certainly hear the difference. Whenever I watch comparison videos such as this, I'm slightly disapointed if the reviewer fails to play slowly though some open chords, letting them ring, as this is by far the most informative benchmark in my opinion.
@vhenmix GS Mini VS Big Baby, Great comparison to make... while the GS mini is smaller it actually rivals the big baby, due to the bracing used on the GS mini you get lots of boom and clarity from a very small GS body size. We will work on comparing the two in a video so you can see the difference. We are currently waiting for some big baby Taylors to come in- we will film the comparison when they arrive.
One slight negative ... my GS doesn't take too kindly to DADGAD. There's then a serious buzz on the top 2 strings at the 1st and 2nd frets. I'm not risking having them reset or polished down nor am I risking adding a shim to alter the neck angle as I only use DADGAD occasionally so will use my LAG parlour for that - but the tolerances as set in the factory must be REALLY tight.
@bluegrasssingingman No idea what you're referring to - throw what in the trash? My electronic tuner? My spare strings? My string winder? I keep all those in the little case that I mentioned. No way I'm sticking a clip-on tuner in the zip pocket.
@bluegrasssingingman Sorry - rrealise I was responding to a numpty who has no uploads of their own and who clearly just likes writing negative comments to fuel some infantile element of frustration. Even if you do consider Taylor guitars to be junk, it would at least have raised your credibility rating above zero if you'd referred to a few objective reasons based on experience. As it is, I suggest you have a big sip of gripewater and actually try playing something. Why not try a Breedlove?
@AlanSturgess No thanks,I'll keep my Martins, Yairi, LOL Why don't you try playing a real guitar? Your taste of music can't be much,or your playing, if you like Taylor. LOL Taylor has more metal in them then wood.
@bluegrasssingingman Ahh - 'Martin' - the classic fantasy guitar of the non-player. I think you've said enough to give yourself away. At least you'll have given other readers of these comments a good laugh --- nearly everyone else does seem to be a player so, like me, they'll have seen right through you. 'Bye.
@bluegrasssingingman you idiot. the other chap is right. you know nothing. obvously cant play yourself. theres no more metal in a taylor than a martin so you dont have any martins. taylors arent resonators! how can you comment on someone elses taste in music when all you seem to like is one style.
@Skifflerman LOL I don't believe I said anything, about taste in music. Martin doesn't use three piece necks. Taylor does so thats two sets of bolts and nuts in each section. So thats at lease six bolts and and washers in one neck. Not counting the shims in there neck joint. Taylor uses wood screws in there necks. That gos through there finger broad in to there neck joint. Martins, and Santa Cruz aren't made this way. Taylor has more metal in them then a Electric guitar.
@bluegrasssingingman short memory there fella. in your comment to sturgess you wrote - Your taste of music can't be much,or your playing - you also dont seem to grasp how and WHY shimming works in taylors. two trussrods are now more common in modern acoustics
you truly are an idiot with your comment about more metal than an electric guitar. you're full of technical info but nothing you can't find out by research. no love for guitars, just facts (often wrong). no love for he music. nada.
@Skifflerman I didn't say anything to a certain style, but if you can't here the difference. In the tone and sound. From a good to a great instrument. Then you're not that good of a picker. That nothing to do with taste, or choice. Shimming kills the sound of a instrument. Go look at Taylors factory videos. This all I'm going to say. Every joint must fit as if it is one solid piece. It is called vibration. Gaps in your joints causes lack of vol. and tone. Due to lack of vibration.
The GS is a fabulous instrument - I almost wrote 'little instrument' but that wouldn't be appropriate. It's small in size but is really full-on when it comes to sound & tone. Your demo accurately shows this. It's a much more appealing shape than the Baby or most parlour guitars & is a winner on all counts & is just so darned affordable. The case is also very good (just wish it had an internal compartment for odds 'n' ends. I use a zip-up bath accessories bag and keep that inside the case).
@cosmiblue1027 or tight and focused, depending on how you hear it, i suppose. i love the sound my bubinga-back taylor baby.
for sure the gs mini sounds bigger, louder and bassier, and if you're looking at solely in terms of sound, hey i'd take the gs mini (or better yet, a real gs). but the gs mini is not worth the substantially added weight, if you're looking for a travel gtr, in my opinion.
The baby taylor sounds like crap. Sounds better than the Baby taylor but nowhere near as good as my used Tacoma I got for the same price as a new Mini
I'm trying SO HARD to get my hands on the GS mini but NO stores here in the UK have one, I don't know how much longer I can take of waiting, might have to get mini martin :(
@xDet3rmin4tionx Hey man don't know where in the UK you are from but I know a store in Guildford, Surrey that stocks GS Minis. Its Anderton's Music google it! Even if you're not near it they do online shop and delivery they are a great retailer I buy all my music equipment there although for some models they can be cheaper elsewhere but they definitely stock the GS Mini!
@bopcorr16 THAT IS WEIRD! I live 5 minutes away from Andertons haha not only that . . . that's where I managed to get my brand new GS Mini from about 2 weeks ago :D. Small world aye :). You from Guildford too?
I so wish they did the Baby's with electronics in. I wanted one so bad but put it off.

-- narrow minded
-- fantasy player.
-- no idea
-- can only be negative
-- probably a failed air guitarist
--- frustrated
-- envious of those who at least try
-- that probably sums you up.

One of the best demos ever that truly shows the difference btw the 2.
The others just EQ the sound to be the same- therefore, no diff if u watching a goodall dread or martin dread, they all sound the same
