Timo does train with the chinese. He multiballs with several chinese coaches. A lot of the European players have been training more in china. The problem is that the Chinese National coaches will not train for more than a few months to non National team members.

@ Oldolchen - his Blade Spirit wouldn't be useful against Ma Long. Of his Medium type blades it has the least speed and control. I'm sure he chose this blade knowing he'd need more speed and control for this tournament.

What I did was training my wrist speed and power. You can strengthen your wrist by pulling an elastic band only with your wrist. It would also help if you'd loosen you wrist before starting to play. You don't have to change your style I think, you just need to learn how to use your wrist. Before hitting the ball you should straighten your wrist and while hitting the ball you should angle it explosively. Sounds easy but needs a little practice...

If Timo was Chinese, his forehand would have been completely reworked by Chinese coaches. Don't you see this is classic match of Europe style versus Chinese style in forehand looping? From Chinese coach's perspective, Timo's forehand is too weak.
