Much better than the Richter recording that I have, which he plays too slow with rubato that takes all the movement out! Thanks for bringing us this wonderful recording.
I agree, rubato should definitely be used sparingly with late Scriabin. However, i like the phrasing spaced out, as do most others. It is interesting to hear a bit of it at reasonable points in the piece.
Methinks truecrypt has the all-Scriabin-all-night-long recording from the Warsaw concerts in the 70's. How about loading Etude Op 42 #5 from that show?
