Taking care of elderly parents and a screwed up work schedule. I will be back in el salvador in august for 4 days. As I mentioned before the people are great and the towns and outskierts have all sorts of cool geo / eco sights. Also, el salvadorean food rocks.
Been there twice. First time was in 2010 after someone told me when I was visiting costa rica to definitely not go to el salvador. I had to and I found out that guy was wrong. El Salvador is an awesome contry, the people are warm and friendly, san salvador is quite impressive of a city and the rural areas have some of the coolest things you will find anywhere. I went to these hot springs, but the coolness was hiking the area they were in. Miniature volcanoes, mud volcanoes, boiling ponds etc.
@tonypittsburgh9 I totally agree with you! The only people that are afraid of going to El Salvador, and say negative things about El Salvador.....is Salvadorinos outside of El Salvador! Or should I say ingnorent Salvadorenos!!! I purchased a beautiful beachfront property there. Next time you or your friends go to El Salvador, why not rent my place.
