ALS is a horrible disease and one, based on my experience, for which the medical community tends to suppress information, deny, or greatly delay diagnosis. I liked the above ALS video by Angela Lansbury, but it had a significant flaw: Angela should have gotten up BEFORE the bullet hit the wall. Didn't make sense that the bullet hit the wall before she got up - because, since the bullet was aimed right at her, it would have hit her, not the wall, unless she had gotten out of the way.
She moved out of the way of the bullet -it's clear to see on the video - and the bullet hit the wall behind her because she moved out of the way - are you blind?
If you or anyone you love is ever stricken with this disease, you will find this video VERY moving & affective !!!!!!!!! I lost my mother to ALS and unless you have walked in the shoes of a PALS or a CALS, do not judge!!

Excellent video!! However, despite the talk about making ALS more known, all I currently see in the medical profession is pretense and suppression of ALS information: Horrendous delay in diagnosing people who have ALS, the pretense that ALS is a "rare" disease, "phoney" physical exams by ALS "experts" designed to blow off the patient without an honest inquiry, and outright denial of the existence of ALS. My opinion: The US govt. may play a role in this- until that changes, won't get better.
My beloved husband was diagnosed with ALS in 2008. This is a very devastating disease that needs to be stopped. I have been trying to raise money and awareness as much as possible. God bless you, Angela, for bringing this to the media where it belongs. Very little is known about this disease. ALS TDI(Therapy Development Institute) is working very diligently to find a cure. That is their only purpose. Let's make these the last days of ALS in 2009. We are a family united and will keep on fighting!
To whoever gave me a -3 for my "bitching special effects" comment, may I assure you I'm not callous to victims of ALS. Remember that a public service announcement or an advertisement needs to appeal to you to be effective, not merely pull at your heart strings. The flying bullet image did that. And the idea of walking away and dodging the bullet is pretty cool too.
Thank God for more support. More and more people need to speak out about ALS. Ms. Lansbury should get together with Curt Shilling of the Red Sox. I would like to see this on more major networks!!
