Perhaps you need to travel more to see there are another 194 countries in this world and were represented at the olympic games. We are the hosts and need to accept all countries as equals, including in a torch relay.

I was there and I witnessed this event. It was a short and happy memory in my life I shared with my brother. That "some other foreign athlete" was Seb Coe an Olympic Gold Medalist and one of the greatest middle distance runners ever. He is also chairman of the 2012 London Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games so it's probably a good idea that he sees how the torch relay should be run :-)

He has also done a lot of work promoting athletics and sport. A worthy person top carry the torch.
