LOL. Just occurred to me while listening to this song how funny it is that Dougie is married to the actress who played Diane in Trainspotting. Poor Renton might have learned something from listening to this song.
I thought It'd be helpful if someone could check my song called "keep on" and give me some feedback, like what you think about the song, does it catch your attention in the slightest.? lyrics? sound? etc....it'd be awesome to get some opinions from you tubers out here.
Wonderwall outdates Writing To Reach You by some number of years.
The Man Who album nods to a lot of their influences. You can hear Pink Floyd in the bass riff at the start of the song 'The Fear' as well as 'Slide Show' mentioning lyrics by Beck, Oasis and The Manic Street Preachers.
Just like Noel is called the wisest rock star....i think Fran is the naughtiest ;p.....his expressions are always so funny and mischievous.....great band....love you Travis!!
both did in different songs. Travis did it with 'writing to reach you' from wonderwall and Oasis did it with 'importance of being idle' from this song
@KurtCobainof21 Well I don't necessarily think that TRAVIS copied Oasis. It honestly seems as though it was an homage to Oasis by including the word " Wonderwall" in the song.
from Indonesia. fyi, good concert here is very little. The best live as I remember are last year muse and björk (i missed those two). No radiohead, no travis (oh and not to mention no one knows travis, I guess) :(
My favourite Travis song. Never seen the video before though, very good though. I love to play this song as my old band did it and we only had one guitarist, so I played a lead bass solo, it was wierd.
I saw them at a small gig last month, at the end they did requests and they played this after I asked for it...yass!
At the gig I saw them in they played 40 minutes of stuff to be included in their next album...it was heavier and darker than the stuff from Good Feeling, and probably the best stuff I've seen from them musically.
I'm glad they did this kind of stuff, but I'm also glad they woke up and made The Man Who. I much prefer their later stuff, but you have to go through these phases I guess.
All about taste I suppose. I reckon U2 do some pretty varied stuff, Vertigo is nothing like The Sweetest Thing for example. But you're right, they know what sells!
yeah but they were written 13 years apart! dont get me wrong, I'm irish so inevitably i'm a big u2 fan but around the mid nineties you could tell they were kind of getting lazy
Guess that's true, but it must be tough to always be brilliant, the same could be said about REM too. I listened to City of Blinding Lights just there, and i reckon it's one of the best tunes U2 have ever written.
I'm a big fan of U2 and I really don't they have ever just made the same music all the time. October and The Unforgettable Fire? Not the same. Joshua Tree and Achtung, Baby? Not the same. Pop and All That You Can't Leave Behind? Not the same.
.. In the beginning they sounded the same some of the time but far most bands do when they are just getting started. After that almost every album has been very different from the last one. But... I have to admit that the last two albums have ... disappointed me. They can do so much better - they already have.
Personally, I can't see the similarities, as Matt has an extremely malleble voice, with impressive falsetto and use of pitch bending...Fran and Travis are cuter though equally impressive!
Muse are fabby live...they were ON FIRE at Wembley!
Woow! I soo agree :P I wanted to see Travis this month but i couldnt :( but i saw Muse though :D i hope i will see Travis soon ;) They are the best bands in the world!

So you're saying Travis copied Oasis or vice versa??
