Everyone thinks that if you lower your upload limit your download speed increases. It doesnt in fact when you upload it to other people they are getting it fast and if they upload as well your download will be going at 1Mb/s the fastest ive ever gotten was about 1.4Mb/s. This process OBLITERATES your connection.

You really shouldn't set a max upload. If anything, you should set a max download rate. People who only download and don't upload are the kind of people that make public trackers slow. You have to remember that you're not downloading from a server, you're downloading from other people, most of them who are downloading other parts from you. If everyone set an upload rate, then everyone's download rate would be slower.

It increased to about 30kbps up and about 21kbps down. If I play with the speeds with downloads by right click mouse on bit torrent and tell it to increase speed to for example downlaod limit 200kb/s download speeds drop dramatically and uploads increase dramatically, any thoughts

give me more info what software do you use , how many seeds and peers per torrent do you connect to , and limit the upload speed to 20 kb , it wont go further and let the download speed be unlimited and dont increase or decrease download or upload speed everything is done automatically !
