Mine is about a year old now. If yours doesn't make very many sounds he may be a girl! You probably know that male cockatiels tend to sing a lot. I got him when he was about 4 months and he whistled already. I just constantly talk to him and he mimics things that are repeated a lot. One fun noise you can teach your bird is the phone ring. Its probably one of the funniest sounds my little guy makes. Try that- yours should catch on fast!

Oh How I wish my bird was that calm, and active as yours, but now she's too old to learn things that easily.
My birds name is kiwi, and is now about 6 1/2 years old

I have like the exact same cockatiel but he only makes 3 different sounds :( how old is yours and how did you teach him?
