@Fdirie wow...sounds like someone is bitter...hahaha...I would definitely agree he didn't deserve to win, but it pretty obvious that this performance is FAAAAAAAR from "sucking"...seems to me like you either need to focus on more positive energies (not be a hater), or listen to more blues. It is unfortunate to be misread or misunderstood. But then,,that is the human condition. I wrote that comment..that if the guy could have spiced a little, he would have won the competition (which shows what a fan I am)..the emphasis above being on ".that is why he lost". I am sure that the question isn't about his fluency on guitar, no, but rather the expressiveness of his musical talent,,which leaves much to be desired.

@Fdirie ...well, I would like to start by stating how different the tone of your first comment was when compared to these replies. IT is much easier to be misunderstood when you say things like "his impro sucks"...that is not objective or constructive criticism at ALL. And I have to say also that I agree with your second comment, his solo was not expressive enough, and that IS why he lost. But it's still a great guitar solo. @Fdirie ...how unfair the ruling was, but just to give my friend a shout-out, because I KNOW him to be a great player, and even though wasn't at his best here, I thought it was still worth posting. Many of the comments would agree with me. Criticism is great, and VERY appreciated, but when it comes in a CONSTRUCTIVE and OBJECTIVE way...again, "his impro sucks" really doesn't help anyone, and shows you as a hater...which I now know you are not. Thanks for watching, and for the great debate! :)

i hate the idea of pitting blues players against each other to determine a "king". you cannot possibly say one blues guitarist is better than another. take BB King and SRV for instance. both have different styles, and both are astounding players. but i would never say one is better than the other. but thats just me...

I like that you played fewer notes that were well placed and had feel to them. I hate so many of these solos that have a zillion notes and it's like nobody has any soulfullness into it. Did you try this year? I didn't make it to the District Finals..but had fun.
