I think I remember this ad. On another note, I've just realised the old intel "du ding du ding" noise sounds VERY much like an msn notification, atleast in this vid.
We started to proper use of web video with metacafe in 2003 - After 5 years that cpu had been released. | Fortunately the tech ads are more honest today. So it was easy to fool people to believe they can play smooth web videos or play primitive 6th gen. games faster than Dreamcast - just with a Pentium2 processor. | But day after day, people started to think about "what they actually get"...
The oldest functional desktop I have has a PIII 500 in it. Even a 5900 Ultra only makes low res videos smooth. There is only so much these old PII's, and lower clocked PIII's can do. This changes once you get to around 800MHZ.
no...it really was a pentium 2. it had 300MHz and it ran Windows XP. it was an old Compaq desktop with 192MB ram (upgraded from 32MB in 2002) and a 2mb ati rage videocard, I don't know which one.
@MusicLuvr76 I still have a computer a pentium II processor my old trusty gateway e-4200 and my g6-400 gateways I still have these systems since they were new and the g6-400 is runs windows 2000 since I upgraded it from windows 98 and the e-4200 runs windows xp pro and they work great.
I have keep them thing going for so long.
And there both on the internet and are networked to the new dell systems.
I think the center of a great pc experience IS NOT A PENTUIM, A POWERPC WILL DO BETTER!!

Which one? The video being choppy, or the long battery life? Because they are both true.

worked with pentium 2 b4(cyber cafe), it really looks like a graphic card.

One of the scariest CPU form factors ever created, talk about trying to stay proprietary.

i bet that the pentium 2 cant provide smooth video to all those screens simultaniously

@uut0
I just watched this video with a Pentium II 366 laptop, and it can't even provide this one video smoothly!
The battery will provide about 4.5 hours of use before needing a charge, and it's eleven years old!

@ytykg Lol, well it only has about one tenth of the TDP modern CPUs have, my laptop's messed up battery only lasts for about 10 minutes tops >.< .
