@ACDCwarmachine What do you mean? I wasn't comparing it to Re-Traced. I mean the approach. Taking heavy songs, and lightening and opening them up is what I meant.
@drunkard103 i played a 5 string of this exact same model at guitar center yesterday. it weighs more than a les paul... its like 15 pounds... couldnt get this good of a tone with what they had there, but it sounded great.
Okay, i hate to be doing this but doesn't anyone notice that the bass line that's playing in the song around the 2.40minute mark- 3.06 mark don't really 'match' the video?
I mean this song is brilliant and so is this guy but that particular part just throws me off a bit.
Oh god! i really hope im not the only one who thinks this! :|
Hmm, the thing is that TesseracT are very rhythmical, so the bass - particularly in this track - is filling out that role. That's why the fretboard work isn't necessarily technical, because the song doesn't call for it and it would distract away from the overall sound :)
@TheJakeGames Don't agree at all. Michael is a great solist, and an amazing innovator on the instrument, but the handful of times I've heard him back somebody, he's about as tasteful guacamole on waffles.
Michael Hedges album 'Breakfast in the Field' comes to mind. The tracks Manring plays on that record are borderline unlistenable, exhibitionist fretless work that serves to stroke his ego more than make the song better.
Maybe I'm wrong though. Which record best exemplifies your point?
@penises that talked shit, fuck your lameass music, and bassist. How many are better, and how many would I rather hear? 8, that looks like an eight, but in reality it's just a line without an end. Infinite.
This man has a killer pocket! To the educated eye it is very apparent that he is capable of serious fretboard gymnastics, yet here he simply puts on a how-to-groove clinic. The tone of each note is impeccable, and each has just the right amount of air surrounding it.
1 dislike?.. who? why? I really don't care what kind of music you like, if you can't see how this guy is a killer bass player demonstrating fluid technique then you're a total moron.
@DillingerEP I'd have to say it's hardly an opinion that this guy can play the bass and demonstrates fluidity in slapping, sliding and flamenco. It may be my opinion that he's awesome but it's a fact the guy demonstrates skill beyond mere competence. I'm a musician, and been professional for close to 18 years now, I'd say if it's just opinion it's an expert opinion :-)
@Schizophaith I've been playing bass for nearly 25 years myself. Don't get me wrong, I think Amos' playing is immaculate, but someone might think he's nowhere near as advanced as Les Claypool for instance. It's a totally different area as far as technique goes but it's a bit harsh to classify someone as a moron simply because they don't like the video :)
@DillingerEP Ya know, I'm sorry and I'll take back the moron comment, I'm usually pretty turned off by rash name calling on internet forums, and sorry I did it here, Was just pretty impressed by the video and his willingness to share his playing for those who asked, and I spoke without thinking. I'm not sure I could say he is less advanced than claypool or more than (insert player here) I'd need to hear him cover a few styles. Claypool is a different player all together.
Is this bass re recorded using the album track with the origional bass taken out? Or is it still the origional bass track just with video of you playing it but no new sound?
Warwicks are nice, but the neck just doesn't cut it for me.

Why are people disliking this?
Is it just because it shows the true ambience of TesseracT?
or is it cos it's so perfect that they can't comment
Tradjectory 1 week ago
@Tradjectory people aren't disliking it.
iamrichlol 1 week ago
@iamrichlol I beg to differ 596 likes, 4 dislikes.
the other explanation is they can't take the ambience
Tradjectory 1 week ago
@Tradjectory 4 dislikes out of 600 hardly suggests that people are disliking it.
virtually impossible to get 100% thumbs up on any video.
