i entirely agree. michael landon had originally written these two episodes for bonanza but adapted them to little house. as an actor, working with michael was a dream. he and his entire operation was incredible!
this was my first great guest roll on tv. michael, a true renaissance man, mentored me, he was the best!
Thanks for replying Chris! I want to also say that you also did a great job on this episode of Little House. Ironically, these were the last two episodes aired under the title "Little House On The Prairie". The show was renamed "Little House A New Beginning" after that. That was when Mike and the Ingalls family (except Laura and Almanzo) left the series. It reminded me of "The Andy Griffith Show". At the end of the 8th season of that show, Andy, Opie and Helen left the show. Continued....
After that the show was renamed "Mayberry R.F.D." Only Aunt Bee stayed behind in Andy's house as a housekeeper to Ken Berry and his son, the new owners. Just like on "Little House A New Beginning" where a lot of the Walnut Grove townspeople played more of a role in the show, the Mayberry townspeople were more prominently featured on "Mayberry R.F.D."
by us in the netherlands, is just season 1 on tv, and i love it from the beginning =D. but can somebody tell me what happens here? Is Charles adopting a guy?
The message that this episode left IS AMAZING, at the end what really happend with James later? he survive the coma, but he never apear again right?...only his sister i think..but this episode espeacially shock me at the end with the MIRACLE really great messasge thanks for uploading
When I first purchased my vids they were around $50.00. However, I am sure you can find it fofor a minimum , of at least, $35.00 in the U.S. I purchased my vids almost a year ago. I hope I was some help to you.
i would watch this instead of just commenting, but i've seen it on my DVDs. it stinks that the only episodes uploaded here are ones i have. PLEASE do the one in season 7 where L and A get married . :-) ROMANCE. ha ha. toodles!

This is one of the best episodes of Little House. Part one is like an episode of Bonanza, and Part two is like Highway to Heaven.

I have to add that both despite the efforts of the remaining actors, both shows were not the same after their main stars left the show.

People didn't make as much money and things didn't cost as much back in the 1800s.

I think you can get them at Walmart for even less than that. Waltons also.

The guy who shot James is a good case for birth control. The best part is where Charles almost strangles the guy to death.
