I must agree with you, you just made everyone that cames were see the obvious, a new recent product with a old year product...i have an 100 eur samsung with amoled wich as the same brightness that your beloved nexus one, and still i prefer the htc hero.
Everyone that spends money one HTC Hero wont have to regret anything, even for the Nexus One...
Now Htc Hero people as HTC Legend with your nexus one amoled like screen, and a 5 megapix with flash...with new sense 2 and android 2.1 you dummy
the camera work is so crappy you cant even tell...they look the same

They are not the same 'generation' of product ... the hero is coming up to a year old now! So obviously its inferior.
I don't miss HTC Sense (which you are waiting for) .... but why wait??? When the Dragon is release you will be able to install the HTC ROM on your Nexus... I 'might' do it myself if HTC bring anything worth while to the table.
You have so much money .. What do you do, share your secret. I have been longing to get an android phone for ages.. haven't been able to buy my first phone as I am a student .. :( , so no money ..
It is fair to compare them...because of this i will not move to the Nexus and i will wait for the HTC Dragon (the Nexus One but from HTC and with HTC Software)....

the displays are different thats the only real reason to why it looks different but a lot of what your looking at is the processor speed

1st thingu should consider is that
N1 is a 1st Teir phone, Hero is a 2nd Teir
N1 1ghz snapdragon, Hero 518Mhz
N1 Ram 512mb, Hero Ram 328mb
hardware wise the N1 beats the Hero in every aspect

The Hero was good (I have one) but its 6 months old now so this isn't a fair comparison.
I have just ordered a Nexus One and cant wait.... though in 6 months there will be something that surpasses it.
Both are better than IPhones though!
