I never owned this, but I did have the Friday the 13th fiasco. This game my not be as bad as that, but it certainly does look pretty damn awful. I agree with you that it did have potential what with the whole dream sequences and all, but potential is all this game seems to have. When the last level looks identical to the first level, then this game can only be rated an F. What a travesty to one of the greatest horror icons of all time.

It's funny that since that time some companies have this awful habit: they want to make a game of a movie (or anything else) and they simply pick an existing game, change the graphics and make a crappy game that has nothing like the movie.

i like how bland LJN does their endings. At least you get a picture of Jason from the Ft13th game when you defeat him. Nice review. Makes me not want to play this game with all that repetitive boss fighting

i believe that most of it is his hatred towards LJN getting liscences over these games. It probably distracts him when playing. AGR has also noted similar elements that makes this game annoying. The only difference I see is that AGR follows through the game.

i think me, this reviewer, and my buddies i useto play this game with as a kid maybe the only ppl on the face of this planet who actually think this game was pretty decent. like him i found the controls decent for Nes, and it had a great soundtrack and unique ideas. Most of all i loved the multi player, im sry but i cant resist saying that as a coop this game actually kicked ass... but i do agree that LJN ruined all its potential... now LJN's bankrupt and doesn't exist so justice is served

Most cemeteries are darn hard to drive around in anyway, so the level kind of makes sense.

This game is repetitive as heck, and it really doesn't give you that many continues. I don't think I ever beat it without a second player and a game genie. I think the junk yard and the cemetery were my favorite levels for obvious reasons.

this is a pretty decent game but its more fun doing 2 players since it helps make it a little less repetitive, assuming that the other player isn't significantly worse than you skill wise cuz they can soak up all the continues.

This game is based loosely on the third movie in the franchise. Everything from the pic on the cover, the attacking tongues, finding Freddy's bones, 4 teenagers with different powers and the junk yard, are all from the third movie, so I'm guessing this game was developed and released when the third film was out in theatres and was making tons of money. On a sidenote, it's my favorite sequel of all of the movies. Great review Aqualung, but that's a point I think you missed. :)

Understandable. The only point I was making about LJN is that they had a long string of bad licensed games. I failed to mention that Rare was the developer and LJN was the publisher, which can seem misleading, as you mentioned.
