  • Greek and Turkish friends, we are not the same people. But we share the same passions, same pains, same music, same food and more. Let us embrace each other in our similarities and differences. This said by a Greek. Γειά σας ρε μόρτες τη Τουρκίας ! ΑΧ, ΑΜΑΝ !

  • greeks and turkish people are brothers!

  • I am sorry for what happened to us. We lost our family and we are all alone now all around the world.

  • Oh wonderful, all expert talent.

  • Oooooo - I love the rendition of this song - great zills and oud - such spirit! Oldies are often the best - bring on the acoustic instruments for me!

  • Çadırımın üstüne şıp dedi damladı Allah canımı almadı almadı Hey rampi rampi, Rampi rampi rampi rampi maşallah Veresiye vere vere kalmadı kalmadı Allah canimi almadı almadı Hey rampi rampi, Rampi rampi rampi rampi maşallah Sürü sürü cezveler kaynasın kaynasın Sürüverin cezveler kaynasın kaynasın Hanımların göbeği oynasın oynasın Hey rampi rampi, Rampi rampi rampi rampi maşallah

  • what the hell!Im macedonian a true one not what the greecs say,or turks,or serbs,or bulgarians,or what ever, music is music and we all have pasion for this kind of music!

  • @madlak

    Bull...!!!

  • @madlak

Macedonia is a historical region... different peoples (ethnic groups) live in it. Greeks, Albanians, Turks,Slavs. Which one do you belong to? Cause you most certainly you can'nt be all of them...

  • American-born of Greek parents, Gus Vali studied at the Manhattan School of music and performed with Louis Prima, Artie Shaw, Johnny Long, Sonny Dunham, and Jan August. Leading his own group, he became the leading exponent of authentic Greek music, including its overlap with the traditions of neighboring regions. Accomplished on the flute, clarinet, and saxophone, he brings a unique Greek sensibility to a field dominated by artists considered more "oriental."

  • I have never seen good comments from people in so called greece. only the turks here have good comments. people living in greece are brainwashed. fouked up;!

  • @kzd444: So you have decided to label all of us in "so-called Greece" basing your opinion on the comments of youtube users? Very intelligent. And that's exactly the reason many of the most well-known Greek singers have sung this Turkish song, it's because we are "brainwashed and fucked up", right?

  • @kzd444

you are most likely brainwashed yourself if you really think so... illmannered as well, no doubt about it...

  • My dad used to play this LP in the 60's. This (All Points East), Port Said (Mohammed El Bakaar), and the Port of Suez (LP was red) are 3 of the best recordings ever. Only Port Said is available on CD that I know of. I did pick up another LP recently of All Points East (mine was scratched to death). If anyone knows where All Points East or Port of Suez are available on CD, please post. As far as some of the stupid "Greeks vs Turks" nonsense on here, this is a music video so put a lid on it.

  • There are only political borders. Musically there are no borders in our world. (That's why musicians are such a nice people, haha). All the problems between people are caused by politicians and their decisions. So, lets all start to think as musicians and be kind to eachother from now on. YouTube should be a place where friends meet eachother.

  • turks and greeks always forever friendships

many kisses to our perfect greek friends

  • thank you, a guy i used to work with told me that rain was falling on something but he said umbrella, i knew that couldn't be it... yea man, aside from religion and history we're the same, i get angry at greeks who hate turks, if we had conquered you guys we would've done the same thing, plus you guys allowed us to be greek (just live worse lives), not like the italians, but thats all behind us, when a greek brings up the slavery i ask "should blacks hate whites because of the past?"

  • Thank you so very much and you are correct in what you say, my Friend. Inshaa Allah enjoy the music-music has a language that has no barriers but unfortunately the ignorant can not understand this concept.

  • You're right, luckily though I see that people in Greece don't hold as much blind hatred as the Greeks in america

  • Karsilamas is a couple dance that is still danced in what was the former Byzantine and Ottoman empire, from Persia to Serbia, and in the Macedonia and Thrace regions of Northern Greece.

  • :-o turkish and greek ?

  • No one is claiming it isn't Turkish. Check the introductory notes to Part 1. I state emphatically it is a Turkish karsilama. No need to captilize Turkish.

  • Efxaristo for this song. This kind of music is almost extinct in Turkey, unfortunately. Actually this is mostly Constantinopolitan/Konstantiyyeli-Thracian/Trakyali/Balkan music. This is not so much Anatolian

  • thats TURKISH !!

  • Comment removed

  • kalli! eucharisto!

  • I forgot to mention that Manny Ayvas is also the oud player in this version.
