  • I have read muscovies only stay near the edge of ponds or river because their Feather (ARN'T) waterproof :(

  • you know if your pet muscovy nibbles on you nibble back by swiping your head on his chest it works!

  • My Drake does that when he is mad at me for not feeding he... Hiss huff hiss huff hiss huff huff hiss, I never fail to reply to him...

  • Ive got Muscovy ducks and I find this amazing

  • the really dark one on the far left looks like my duck waffel

  • i used to have muscovy ducks, one would approach me and just bite me and the other would just run away and she cold fly too

  • @SpartanW98 if he bites bite back hes trying to play with you! it means he likes you!

  • i wish they would come smaller

  • i used to have muscovt ducks too there class

  • I hear an imposter - quacking!

  • there cute

  • nice ducks. do they fly and dive?

  • They fly but don't dive. They are dabblers, like mallards.

  • Actually mallards do dive but I don't think Muscovies can dive because they're too big. They're too bouyant.

  • muscovies can dive, specially the females.

  • really??/thats very interesting. ..i haven't seen them dive. ..do you have a video of them diving and flying?

  • you know I've been looking for videos of them flying but never seem to find them. I live in south Florida so these birds are more than abundant here. They look so majestic in flight, specially the males, you would never think they fly so well, you could even hear their wings. About the diving, I've only seen the females dive, but its nothing like a mallard, they seem to do it only when they get hyper, but its nothing special. These are the nicest ducks, ive even seen females adopt ducklings.

  • we have alot of them by us they actually are very friendly ducks

  • mine do this all the time...what does it mean?? is it really how they communicate??

  • Dear mktsoccer,

Haha, yes, they do this all the time, mostly the males though. It's a ducks way off saying "Back off!" They swoon their head forward and make a sound similar to hissing.

In this vid they are pretty much screaming at each other XD

  • lol

  • i hate that panting noise they make when they do that.

  • But that's the only sound the drakes make.
