Billions in oil tax subsidies. Billions in military spending for oil, escalating gas prices all on the backs of the middle class tax payer. A middle class that has already taken several big hits. All while the Big Oil enjoyed a reported trillion in record profits last decade. Best lobbying money can buy. And the GOP is acting like their serious about making cuts?
I am heavily invested in the stock of oil exploration and production companies with larger volumes of oil reserves. I don't know how that could be a bad idea for the next 20 years.
I've heard repeatedly that Afghanistan is the worlds most corrupt country. How is it more corrupt than America? Our government is completely bought by the rich. With some exceptions, politicians fight to give in to the demands of the real ruling class. What's it going to take for the majority to see what's happened?
"oh wait but what if they are pushing for green energy?" lol give me a break! Lets give out subs. when electric cars take over the highways and roads of america other than that...fuck the oil industry
@kuktahamham The tax subsidy was introduced for the oil industry during the Reagan era. It was an important subsidy to make sure that America had a tight grip on oil after the 1973 oil embargo crisis. Nowadays, with those same oil giants making record profits it is nothing more than a tax cut.
@kuktahamham Any company which pays lower than the standard rate is being subsidised. If you can't handle the reality then just keep licking your dictionary.
@nilbud Is that true, I didn't know that, thanks for telling me.
But I think it's not really a subsidy, no matter how ridiculous it is. When I heard Cenk say that I was under the impression that the US government was paying money to the oil companies to work. That is what we call a sibsidy.
The government can subsidize oil, like they do here in canada, by making it cost less to us.
It's my understanding The Tea party was hijacked by the Koch's/Big Oil to use as Astroturf. It does seem ironic that the robber-barons are using a tiny percent their of the billions in government handouts to promote Liberian propaganda. I guess they figure the little people can't fathom lies of that size.
as long as politicians can be bought, there will be no civil justice in america. this should be the most obvious thing in the world, yet we continue to allow our politicians to be nothing but paid whores. who is to blame other than ourselves as citizens?
@jumar1281 yup. when the system is broken and we can't count on our politicians, its our job to do something about it. but we do nothing. i don't know why i wish we could all come together and really do something.. i just want to see everyone pour out into the streets and say ENOUGH! We don't realize the power of unity, the power we all hold. we tell ourselves "we're fucked, there's nothing we can do, we have no power," and in believing that we lose our power and make it so! All it takes is..
So the oil industry puts money into congress and in return the governmental pays the oil industry with tax payers money... It seems like the government is just using oil subsidies as an excuse to put taxpayers money in there own pocket.... HAHAHA GOOD GOD AMERICA IS FUCKED.
@DouglasASean American are constantly being fucked in the collective ass, only the size of the dildo varies. No need to say it in CAP like you are surprised.
It is so important because it is giving rich people more money. Giving rich people more money is important because it is important. It is important because they are rich. They got rich because getting money was important.
@dangerouslytalented Ah okay, now I understand. When you break the republicans talking points down like that it all makes perfect sense. It's important that rich people make more money because rich people are important. VOTE REPUBLICAN!

Ben should take over interviews on MSNBC for Cenk.
I like Cenk but his interview technique it to try and get people to say what he wants them to say.

Nationalize the oil companies and subsidize, solar, wind, garbage-biodiesel and thorium energy.

I don't agree with TAX CUTS to oil companies, but don't call it tax subsidies, that's intellectually dishonest, it is a tax cut.
kuktahamham 10 months ago
@kuktahamham It' was a subsidy when it was introduced, but yes, now it's definitely just a cut.

Oil companies must make electric cars for the future of mankind.
If we hope to preserve any culture whatsoever, we the people must make Big Oil pay trillions for an alternative (presumably wireless) energy grid
And we need subsequent electric cars for all and while were at it we need less oil in and on our food!
if only when we have these things can earths citizens become rich and intelligent. in abundance.
as opposed to sick, poor. stupid and drugged.
its quite the challenge
Good luck
LOVE U
