Surprising to hear Cornette give Hogan respect and keep him off the shit list. Although come to think of it, I've never really heard Cornette shoot on Hogan. Jim's issues, outside of the Clique, seem to be with promoters and management. Actually, have Cornette and Hogan ever been in the same promotion at the same time? Seems like they just missed each other in WWF and TNA.
@1d2i3a4b5l6o He looks at the camera with a bit of a knowing gleam in his eye as if to say "There, you heard that? I didn't say cocksucker." I don't know, maybe I'm reading it into what he's saying, but that's the what it looks like to me.

@MrMikehunt87 Well Cornette isn't as "conservative" as u think. Keep in mind, he is an atheist like myself. I bet his fav. country song is "take this job and shove it". That's my fav. country song too :)
@cliffburton333 I wonder how Russo is that awful? He seems like a nice guy, but Russo doesn't know what he's doing as far as wrestling. BTW, is your name from Metallica's dead guitarist?
@Realdeal232005 No, WCW lost money because of Vince Russo. WCW went under because of Jamie Kellner and Ted Turner merging his assets with Time Warner.
@Realdeal232005 Whether you like it or not David Arquette did draw interest back into WCW because he was a star at the time and married to Courtney Cox, who appeared on WCW television herself. I've never been bothered by his Title reign. Sometimes you have to suspend disbelief and I can buy him beating Eric Bischoff for the belt. Also that Ready to Rumble Triple Tier Cage match kicked ass.
@Quentin242451 He was NOT a great wrestler and it was a slap in the face to wrestlers who paid their dues such as Hawksaw Jim Duggan, Hardcore Holly, Big John Studd, Kip James, Xpac, Tatanka, Junk Yard Dogg, Road Dogg, Godfather, Bam Bam Biglow, Buff Bagwell, Crush, Kanyon, and Jake The Snake Roberts. Where were th No wonder WWE put WCW out of business.
@Realdeal232005 I never said he was a great wrestler. lol Why are you trying to put words in my mouth? I said he was entertaining and that he drew interest back into WCW, something none of the people you mentioned could do. A lot of wrestlers pay their dues but still end up on the backburner. It's the way things go whether there is Celebrity involvement or not. WWE put WCW out of business because WCW was up for sale by Time Warner. Ted Turner still would have kept a hold of it if he could.
@Quentin242451 It did beat WWE for 87 weeks. bad mangment. People want to see wrestling not entertainment. lets look up some duos Luna Vachon and Bam Bam Bigelow, Madusa & Rick Rude, Nancy Benoit & Ric Flair Wrestlers. Edge & Lita, HBK & Sensational Sherri, Trish Straus & Christian Entertainment. What Jim is alooded to is wrestling. WCW got so crappy that alot of them left before WCW closed Y2J, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, Haku, Xpac, and the list goes on and on.
@Quentin242451 Continued. John Cena's gimmick is entertainment and people don't like it. Russo sucks so bad that his 20 ideas sucked compared to Jim Cornettes and Vince McMahon and even Eric Bichoff one idea was better than his 20 ideas
@Realdeal232005 A lot of people like John Cena. The WWE's biggest quarter was their second of 2008. You know why? Because John Cena sells. And whether you like it or not he is a future Legend who current kids coming of age will look back at fondly. That's why WWE has had their most profitable years recently.
It's not that people stopped watching when those wrestlers started leaving, it's that WWE went up against their only worthwhile show and beat them because they were doing much better.
@Quentin242451 I know I like Cena, but alot of people hates him. DDP was near the end of his career when he got pushed at least he did. true! Bobby Heenan said in the Million Dollar Man's book that WCW had bad managment.
@Realdeal232005 It did. After Bischoff was ousted accountant Bill Busch was put in charge. The problem with that is he was just there to handle money and didn't know anything about wrestling. Because of him Kevin Sullivan and Vince Russo and all those guys from then on were put in charge to run the product. There was no Vince McMahon in WCW. It was being booked badly by writers, ran by somebody there solely to handle the money, and the Turner execs helped ruin it.
@Realdeal232005 Yeah he had power, but it was controled by Bill Busch. In 2000 when Bill put a limit on his input the IWC thought Russo was going to leave the company.
@Quentin242451 I see what your saying. Eric was the president and Russo had more power and authority than he had in WWE. Russo done so much damage before he left that Eric coundn't undo. I do see why WCW did beat WWE. 1. Because it was alot cleaner aka (Nitro Girls) and The NWO saved it back in 96. People want to cruscify Biscoff for it he wasn't all of it. He was part of it.
@Realdeal232005 When Bischoff returned he and Russo both controlled the company for a bit. That's what was also shown on-screen during the New Blood angle. Russo didn't do as much damage as he's given credit for. Before him Kevin Sullivan was booking at the beginning of 2000. WCW didn't have to die but by then it was losing Multi-Millions of dollars and it was put up for sale by Time Warner because Jamie Kellner didn't want Wrestling on the Turner networks.
@Realdeal232005 It's easy to say Bischoff had one idea when you've never been in his position. He obviously made Goldberg and Dallas Page stars. That right there is something right. Eric's downfall was not being one step further than the competiton, but being so inthrawled with beating them. I read a Flair article from 2002 not so long ago from Raw magazine. He mentions how in company meetings Eric would go on about the competiton and didn't put much into what THEY as a company were going to do.
@kgp8 He's not a terrible person, he's obviously just doing what he can to make a living for his family. He just doesn't know wrestling. He makes a mockery of it in everything he does. He doesn't understand character development or anything about writing any kind of an effective storyline, he just tries to "catch your attention" when you're flipping through the channels. This is not a sustainable route for wrestling, as we've seen over the last decade, ratings have dropped considerably.
@cliffburton333 I agree with everything u are saying. BTW, u missed my question on if your screen name is named after Metalica's first bassist, Cliff Burton. God, I miss Cliff :(
@hydraIX CZW is all you really need to know. It basically gives nontalented guys who couldn't thumb wrestle a pop they don't earn. Occassional chair shots are fine and the hardcore match here or there are fine, but a whole company based on it just doesn't work.
ECW had pure wrestling matches, so they don't count AS much.
@StreetsOfSonic George Carlin, Jim Cornette, Garth Ennis, Trey Parker, Matt Stone.
I'm a Christian and still am, but there has to be something really wrong with religion and the world in general when its the atheists who seem to make the most sense and be the least full of shit.
@CMY187 There's many athiests who are full of it. If you were really a christian you wouldn't lump Jesus in with all these " religions". Look up the meaning of the word of religion, anyway.
@918Anon If I really am a Christian...hmm. Do I even want to know what you consider to be "really a Christian"?
I'll listen to those I wish to listen to, thank you very much. Cornette might be an athiest, and so is Carlin, but if you'd rather I should only listen to Christians such as, say, Vince Russo, I say no thanks.
I'm not going to stop being a Christian or believing in God, but that dosen't mean I'm going to just shut out anything that the athiests say. That's just being elitist.
@CMY187 "I do what I want!" You sound more like Alister Crowley than Jesus. Alister Crowley said: "Do what thou wilt". 1 Corinthians 15:33 says: "Do not be deceived, bad company ruins good morals." Psalm 1:1: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; Proverbs 6:27-"Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his clothes not be burned?"
@918Anon First of all, calm the hell down. Secondly, I'm not going to renounce God and start waving signs that say "Down with Jesus" or stuff like that. But I'm willing to give non-Christians the time of day and to listen to WHY they chose not to follow Christ.
Cornette dosen't strike me as bad company, as lacking good morals, as wicked, or even as a sinner. He seems like a good person in my book. So I'll listen to him. I don't agree with him being athiest, though.
@918Anon Alright. Look, why don't you check out George Carlin on youtube? You don't have to agree with everything he says, but I guarantee you'll get a laugh out of him.
@CMY187 I've seen Carlin's material and I don't find him particularly funny. He has a few solid points about government and our modern manufactured, hive-mind, materialistic, culture. Everything else is sort of "meh".
People say John Cena is the worst thing that could ever happen in pro wrestling. More like Vince Russo because he did worse things than John could ever imagine doing. Bad bookings, annoying at the mic, and shortening careers. Who agrees with me?
Agreed. Cena is pretty much doing what he is told to do, more or less. Vince Russo is just slime, and if someone mowed him down with an AK-47 tomorrow, I would throw a celebration, as would every other wrestling fan out there.
@guy2008rules agreed, Cena is a just a worker, and to his credit he works his ass off. He's been booked poorly for my tastes but he does have charisma and a look. And even as bad as it is right now, I think 1993 was far worse. There are a lot of young guys who are beginning to get a serious push, guys like Ziggler, Danielson, and Punk, guys who I think with the right booking could ignite a 3rd golden age. Hogan and Austin being the other two golden ages.
as much as i loved hardcore matches in wrestling back in the day it really doesnt have a place in wrestling and shouldnt even have wrestling in the name with hardcore imo and damn what did mark madden do someone help me with that
everyone knows insane clown pussy isnt music, or entertainment. he nailed it, i never thought of it before; its a stupid fucking pet trick but with humans.
lmao "thats why im on my low carb diet and tryna stay away from sugar, because i wanna live to stand and piss upon vince russo's grave" gotta love the stuff jim cornette comes out with
I like his opinions on wrestling, but not on politics. Going into the 21st century...is he kidding.? What liberalism offers now is the same disastrous social programs FDR gave America in the 20th century.
I love how without hesitation, Cornette immediately put Russo's name of the board, and not only that, but put him right at #1 on his Shit List. That was very funny, and very well deserved. I also loved his Dunn impersonation, and the mulling over what names to leave of the list.
i love Cornette, the guy is a classic. Has a great mind for the business and not afraid to speak his mind. something a lot of guys dont do. or they do it then apologise for it or say their account was hacked. Russo is a steaming pile of shit and after reading his book i wanted to gouge my own eyes out. How this guy has lasted so long in wrestling, either he's got naked pix of someone or he's bending over for someone. If Russo had an original thought that actually worked it would be a 1st
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Russo would destroy this fat nerd I aint even a russo fan but this cornette is a fucking coward he didnt say shit when he was actually in tna, russo was right there dude why didnt you deliver one of your famous shoots?
@MrTalldude87 He's been the main producer for WWE for a long time and a main driving force behind creative decisions in WWE to eliminate its ties to "wrestling" and enhance the "sports-entertainment" and "WWE Universe" branding.
"I work on Wrethling,Fok,Fok,Fok,I don't know Why I work on Wrethling,Fok Fok Fok,that because They paid on Wrethlers Fok Fok Fok,in Wrethling Boots Fok Fok Fok and Wrethling Tights Fok Fok Fok,in Wrethling Ring Fok Fok Fok Fok Fok Fok Fok"
Cornette speaks the truth on alot of these guys put JCW with the ICP is really poppin right now. I wonder why Jim thought they were mocking Pro Wrestling? A few months ago they were on Colt Cabana's "The Art of Wrestling" podcast and they were talking about how they have loved wrestling since they were kids and even had their own legit ring and neighborhood wrestling federation.
@5L3R124 Heh, JCW is the shits, and most people couldn't give a fuck about it. As for Jim Cornette, he's one of the most respected minds in the business, and most certainly DOES know what's going on. Just because he doesn't like JCW or ICP doesn't mean he doesn't know what's going on.
@warriorofwrestlingv3 Yeah, between running Smokey Mountain Wrestling into the ground, and the Davey Boy, Diana, HBK love triangle storyline from 1996 that nobody cared about, Jim Cornette is great. God, people give this turd too much credit just because he was the mouthpiece of a moderately successful Tag Team 30 years ago, too bad everything he has done behind the scenes sucked from a business standpoint.
@Fiendishfoe666 No. Watch his 'Re-booking The Invasion' KFC release, and tell me that's not some awesome booking. As for SMW, wrestling as a whole wasn't 'in' at the time, so it's no suprise things didn't work out. As for your 'people give this turd too much credit just because he was the mouthpiece of a moderately successfuly tag team' comment. I never saw much of the Midnight Express, but know enough to know they're legends of the business. 'Moderately successful?' Bullshit.

Agreed. Cena is pretty much doing what he is told to do, more or less. Vince Russo is just slime, and if someone mowed him down with an AK-47 tomorrow, I would throw a celebration, as would every other wrestling fan out there.
PYLrulz1984 1 month ago
@guy2008rules agreed, Cena is a just a worker, and to his credit he works his ass off. He's been booked poorly for my tastes but he does have charisma and a look. And even as bad as it is right now, I think 1993 was far worse. There are a lot of young guys who are beginning to get a serious push, guys like Ziggler, Danielson, and Punk, guys who I think with the right booking could ignite a 3rd golden age. Hogan and Austin being the other two golden ages.

No, not people to pay their respects to the deceased, it will be the line of people that will want to piss on his grave

I like his opinions on wrestling, but not on politics. Going into the 21st century...is he kidding.? What liberalism offers now is the same disastrous social programs FDR gave America in the 20th century.

I like how he had now hesitation with Kevin Dunn as well, one of the biggest McMahon yes men in history.

Cornette, you have strong enough fan base thats loyal enough to piss on Russo grave for you if ,God forbid, you die before he does.
TheOrangeIsThirsty 6 months ago
@TheOrangeIsThirsty He should freeze some of his piss so in case he dies first, it can be poured on Russo's grave.
fjccommish 6 months ago

Evan3682 7 months ago
@Evan3682 Well, if you make a joke out of the business you're in, there really is no logic in it.
jww112093 7 months ago
its funny cus JCW is on the rise. and this guy has no idea whats going on....
5L3R124 7 months ago
@5L3R124 Heh, JCW is the shits, and most people couldn't give a fuck about it. As for Jim Cornette, he's one of the most respected minds in the business, and most certainly DOES know what's going on. Just because he doesn't like JCW or ICP doesn't mean he doesn't know what's going on.
warriorofwrestlingv3 7 months ago
@warriorofwrestlingv3 Yeah, between running Smokey Mountain Wrestling into the ground, and the Davey Boy, Diana, HBK love triangle storyline from 1996 that nobody cared about, Jim Cornette is great. God, people give this turd too much credit just because he was the mouthpiece of a moderately successful Tag Team 30 years ago, too bad everything he has done behind the scenes sucked from a business standpoint.
Fiendishfoe666 6 months ago
@Fiendishfoe666 No. Watch his 'Re-booking The Invasion' KFC release, and tell me that's not some awesome booking. As for SMW, wrestling as a whole wasn't 'in' at the time, so it's no suprise things didn't work out. As for your 'people give this turd too much credit just because he was the mouthpiece of a moderately successfuly tag team' comment. I never saw much of the Midnight Express, but know enough to know they're legends of the business. 'Moderately successful?' Bullshit.
