The boat is not really damaged a lot; it is "getting it back into the water" that is the tough/expensive part. Probably can't be trucked out because trucks can't access the beach, and can't be pulled by tugboat to sea because it would have to be dragged 500 feet through shallow water and breaking waves, which will cause damage.
Someone could still live aboard if they don't mind walking through the saloon at a 60-degree angle and sleep on the wall.
A lot of people think they can anchor out off Ballona Creek and live cheap. Unfortunately these are often people who never learned how to anchor. First storm and they go aground.
