I feel that question can best be answered through the Social Contract Theory, you can google it for a full definition, but basically it advocates the government's existence and authority by mutual consent of the people. Because the majority of the population has mutually consented for the necessity of a governing body, it has the authority as given to it by the people to be a necessary body of authority.

Fox News is analogous to the Republican Party. There is neocon side (Bill O'Reilly; Mitt Romney, Rick Perry) and a libertarian side (John Stossel, Andrew Napolitano; Ron Paul, Gary Johnson). The libertarian side shares the grievances of OWS - they are against bailouts, they are against special privileges for corporations, and they are opposed to the government policies that cause unemployment.

What however is the fact that his new show (which used to be a mere segment) being a weekly thing has had an impact on its quality.

I feel that question can best be answered through the Social Contract Theory, you can google it for a full definition, but basically it advocates the government's existence and authority by mutual consent of the people. Because the majority of the population has mutually consented for the necessity of a governing body, it has the authority as given to it by the people to be a necessary body of authority.

@Giodude93 Google FAIR and John Stossel. They have a complete listing of all his lies. Including the time Erin Brockovitch challenged him to drink some water laced with hexavalent chromium, which Stossel claimed wasn't dangerous. Or the time he railed against lawsuits and then sued a wrestler $200,000 for slapping him in the face. Or the time he got busted by his own network for falsifying a report stating organic food was more dangerous than non-organic.

@Giodude93 I'm a huge fan of Stossel. I understand some people think he's too pointlessly contrarian, but he's a great writer/speaker and has a wonderful way of challenging Republican othodoxy. In spite of all that, I'm not sure what he was expecting. These people are angry and justifiably so. Whether he likes it or not, Stossel is establishment, it'd be like Rachel Maddow or Cenk Uygur showing up at a Tea Party. It's just calling for trouble lol.

FNC continues to be the most watched and most trusted major news network and its audience is the most politically diverse. Fair and balanced is not just a motto; according to the non-partisan Project for Excellence in Journalism as well as other credible sources, they do indeed offer the most balanced coverage of the issues.

Gary Johnson is the best presidential candidate for the american people. He has the most logical and ethical economic solutions for this nation as a whole. I ask that you at least research him, and if you do not, if I did know you, I'd have to ask, why are you voting when you do not have all the facts? Everything is mixed up. Define terms. This IS a reaction to the 'redistribution' of wealth also known as the taxpayer funded bailouts. They are AGAINST that form of redistribution ad infinitum.

@culturehorse Actually, Douglas Schoen, he's a Democratic pollster went out to the protests and found out that half of them think the bank bailouts were necessary. It was a couple of days ago that he posted that poll. You should check it out. Just look up, "OWS 49% pro bailout." It should pop right up.
