they made a mistake in the editing. When he launches in the car he lets off the gas pedal and hits the clutch... unless NASCAR's have the gas pedal on the left side...

I think that's more likely CGI, but I could be wrong. Whoever's doing the V.O. sure does a good impersonation of Paul Hogan. I say that because Imbd hasn't given Paul credit for it...
