I was just commenting on how the Gospel was portrayed in this video. Jesus also talked much about heaven. Telling people that they must choose Christ or goto Hell is not what I'd picture coming from Christ. It is a shame that few have the time to explain the Gospel so that the seed is planted correctly in the foundation of Christ. Hell or what we recieve is just a small part of the whole picture. We don't have to scare people rather fellowship with them.
Desparation does not lead to salvation. Faith is calculated with the proper perspective of God. Fear of going to hell has never saved anybody. If you don't fear God or the earthly consequences of your actions then the idea of going to hell won't scare you either. All we are doing is promoting traps for christians when we teach about Hell.

@Godlesspanther " Ramtha's School of Enlightenment " I never heard of that one, but it doesn't give me a good feeling. Usually when I see the word "enlightenment" there's nothing enlightening about them, it's more like a cult. I was raised to be a brainwashed Christian, and even though I'll be one of the first to say not all religion is bad, I still don't want it in my life. When you get fanatics, like this one, it goes beyond personal beliefs and into cult-like behavior, it's a scary thing.

There are so very many lost people on here mouthing terrible things about God, not knowing how close to meeting Him they are.
It's overwhelmingly sad.
On the day you die, if you're lucky enough to have a few seconds or minutes of warning, you will not be mouthing down God, you will be desperately wanting to know how to gain His approval.

No, morality, no God, no heaven, no Savior, no truth in the bible, no forgiveness from sins. Just what part of this hopelessness is going to better Kirk? He has already had what the atheist has had, namely a godless life. He left it behind. I was just commenting on how the Gospel was portrayed in this video. Jesus also talked much about heaven. Telling people that they must choose Christ or goto Hell is not what I'd picture coming from Christ. It is a shame that few have the time to explain the Gospel so that the seed is planted correctly in the foundation of Christ. Hell or what we recieve is just a small part of the whole picture. We don't have to scare people rather fellowship with them.

Desparation does not lead to salvation. Faith is calculated with the proper perspective of God. Fear of going to hell has never saved anybody. If you don't fear God or the earthly consequences of your actions then the idea of going to hell won't scare you either. All we are doing is promoting traps for christians when we teach about Hell.

Yeah, I've met foreigners who assume every American they meet is a stupid creationist until they demonstrate differently. The sad thing is there is no necessary conflict between evolution and belief in a creative god: God creates the origional stuff of life and it evolves into all subsequent forms of life. So you might say all those evolved forms were latent in the origional stuff created by the god. These fundies are bad for Christianity. They reduce it to a mere denial of empirical science.

Kirk is a nice guy, but he's not cut out for the job as poster boy for evangelical living. He's not bright enough and has too little of a general academic background. Even his command of Scripture is at an elementary level.
Paired off with Carrie Prejean, this would be a perfect team to assure a fast implosion of the ChrisTaliban, to roaring laughter of the entire world who considers us Americans to be a bunch of Jesus Freaks anyhow.

Religion is the greatest source of unhappiness, hate and destruction. Countries where a large number of the inhabitants have no "faith", show the greatest prosperity, social justice and tranquility.
Scandinavia, Czech Republic, Netherlands. The majority of people in these countries practice no religion. Yet, they are prosperous and content. They also have a much lower divorce rate. Coincidence?

Jesus never brought a religion,He never talked about religion. He talked about a Father/ Child relationship. Humans have turned that, concept, to what we know as religion today.
Many of the things done in the name of Christianity today Jesus never asked us to do. Living a life that Christ lived and spoke about and having a father/Child relationship with God is what it is all about.

having been a christian for most of my life and having plenty of money i can say that riches nor a relationship with some god every filled a void in my life.
when i built my love for people and the world around me without concern for a god or wealth i was able to find my balance in life.
the reason most people believe that god fills that void is because of the relationship. but i would rather they focus more on other people, personally.
i turned agnostic at age 18, and ill never go back.

What exactly is your definition of a Christian.
Is it because you grew up going to church?
Is it because you prayed a prayer one time?
Is it because perhaps your parents were Christians or that you went to Bible camp and memorised bible verses?
Going to church does not make you a Christian, anymore than going to MacDonalds make you a hamburger.
It is highly likely u just played church and never actually had a salvation transformation experience with God.

exactly what is the difference in your opinion b/t commiting your life 2 christ b/c you believe in him and "BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ". The whole bible is the word of God not one verse. Bible also says even Satan n his angels believe in God n fear Him, they are not saved. I thank God U found Jesus, but also read Matt 7:22, Matt 24:13, Rom 11:22 Pil 2:12, 1Cor 9:21, 1Cor 10:11-12, Gal 5:4, 2Tim 2:11-13, Heb 6:4-6, Heb 10:26-27.
