Brings back a lot of good memories! I worked at SGI in the mid 90s, these systems were everywhere. Employees were just starting to get Indys to replace them.

Yeah right. Onyx was released in 1993. T2 was made in 1990/1991.

not so, in fact many of the things/inventions used on these legendary systems, are simple copy-pasted in winblows and macs of today, well ... some basic unix knowledge is required, but irix magic desktop is one of most user friendly nixes ever made ...

basically copy system.backgrounds to your home directory and edit it.

my Irix is 6.5.24. I have installed "Add to Backrounds" tardist from Nekoware site, but this didn't work in my system...

Sweet system, Would love to own some sort of Irix box soon, Just don't think i'd have any use for it... ;-) ... It was really ahead of its time though! :-D
