  • ?is there an obtical ilusion in this cover or am i just paranoid

  • Who is the female singer?

  • Fucking. Masterpiece.

  • 4 people swimming in a burning lake!

  • alice coopers albums sound good but live they are so much heavier and better, he puts on such a good show. been to 3 shows now and they are always amazing.

  • great comment below, NICE.

  • you know what? I think that the devil would cower in fear of alice cooper

  • Why Wasn't This Song HUGE? Rob Zombie Was At His Peak When This Came Out....And This Album Is Better.

  • God save this whole album! <3

  • i like all his stuff and that each album has something new or different, wether its concept or style, sumthin will change

  • Just saw Alice cooper at Stage AE in pittsburgh, and never heard this song til then, simply amazing.

  • @rustedromeo I was there also, Wow, THAT was a kick ass show!!!

  • @rustedromeo You too? Kick w show, wasn't it? Nice venue, it was our first time there. If I can only afford one show a year, Umma comin' to see you, Uncle Alice, :-)!!!

  • Never mind

  • Its industrial metal not rock

  • this is real rock

  • To me the best song of the 2000s.

  • No_W we gonna see about rest of the Abyss........

  • This song is so fucking good.

  • what an ass

  • @bombardierdude15 Who are you talking too?

  • this was the first ac song i ever heard i was watchin the brutally live concert on a busted out gateway

  • luv it!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

  • We're only human, we were born to die, without the benefit of reason why, we live for pleasure, to be satisfied, and now it's over there's no place to hide!

Truest lyrics of any song ever!!!!!!!!

  • one of his best.... nice song love the lyrics.

  • other than elton john alice is the only artist that i love every song he does the first time i hear them

  • dang 2 people live in a very brutal planet

  • @ricejos01

That's only because they can't handle the truth behind the lyrics.

  • Natalie Delaney did do backing vocals but Calico was also credited on the track.Phoenix is awesome though isn't it man? I wanted to take my table when we hit Cooperstown! Unfortuately we went Sept 2001. We went back on the 15th to get stuff to take home for the kids the staff were so nice to us. I told Alice and Sheryl that I hoped he gave them a bonus that week when I met them last year! Can't believe my 1st words to him were "man you are so not worthy" My hubby got that award for getting VIP!

  • SnitchyBoochies the girl on backing vocals for this track was Callico Cooper who has been a huge part in the Alice Cooper shows for years, I first saw her on the Brutal Planet tour in 01 and like her dad she Rocks! This and Dragontown were brilliant albums but I'm sure I read that Welcome 2 my Nightmare is what he is working on now, think the working title was ' the nightshift' or something like that but the Nightmare continues! lol

  • @Oldmothercath With all due respect it is not Calico on backing vocals. I lived in Phoenix when this came out and Alice on the radio being interviewed said it was a lady who worked at an eyeglasses shop who lived in Phoenix like him. Can't remember her name though.

  • @MyDustyBottoms Natalie Delaney ?

  • Brutal Planet must be the sequel to Welcome To My Nightmare,Yes/No Maybe??

  • Are there girls singing with him? It just sounds that way.

  • God this song is awesome, and also kind of forgotten about.Alice needs to bring this back into the set list. This whole album is awesome from start to finish. And the live show from this tour was killer too.

  • Alice still has it!

  • Ahh, such a happy song ;) Love Alice Cooper!

  • I listen to this song when I'm pissed off lol

  • dunno why but when he says "It's just like paradise" i always think he says "It's just like africa"

  • This world is such perfection(oh what a sight)It's just like paradise(for my eyes) a truly grand creation(oh what a sight from up here it looks so nice( for my eyes)

  • Check out the Brutal Planet Remix on You Tube.

  • This album proves that Alice could do pretty nice in (real heavy) metal, too. :)

  • great lyrics

  • Ah the Brutal Planet tour was my first Alice show-now I've been to 6 of his shows. Love Him!

  • This is fucking AWESOME. Going to be listening to this a lot over the next few days :D

  • wow, not really the usual Alice Cooper, but awesome. The lyrics are so true (if sometimes a bit exaggerated) and really make you think...

  • This song is good minus the chorus.

  • I can't help it, I keep coming back to hear it, I really need to get the CD FAST...

  • the solo is so simple, yet so brutal.

    amazing.

  • Freaking AWSOME Song. One ofthe best Cooper albums EVER!!!

  • Damn great song, true music at it's best, not this garbage from TV...

  • Absolutely love this song. easy as hell to play, but its the simplicity in it that makes it so startlingly evil.

  • Gotta love the intro, man. I listen to this whenever I'm pissed off, and for some reason it calms me down. It's like the hate/anger in the SONG sucks up MY anger.

But after listening to it I want to punch closest motherfucker in the face, for some reason.

  • I can't wait to see him on july 24 for the Heavy MTL

  • Alice's best lyrics ever.

  • @dragonofblood Not even close. But he did pull off a masterpiece with the entire brutal planet album. He's always been a god at meaningfull lyrics though :P

  • Lyrics are very very true what a shit world we live in great song

  • this is BRUTAL \m/ i love alice's tunes

  • I want to go to your funeral, Longgoneblind. Sounds like my kind of sendoff. :3

  • My funeral is on thursday and we're playing this will u come?

  • When I got the album I was surprised at how dark and heavy it was. Great songs.

  • I know me to i was like wow this is alice i like it DylanVanella

  • Right here we stoned the prophets

    Built idols out of mud

Right here we fed the lions

    Christian flesh and Christian blood

Down here is where we hung ya

    Upon an ugly cross

Over there we filled the ovens

    Right here the holocaust

  • POwerful, dark...deep ebergy! LOve It!!!

  • alice the man!

  • Here's where we starve the hungry,

Here's where we cheat the poor,

Here's where we beat the children,

Here is where we pay the whore

    Wow.

  • Powerful, but unfortunately, incredibly true.

  • Powerful because its true...unfortunate that Alice Cooper is one of the only ones singing it like he sees it.

  • Comment removed

  • @steggieone I know, powerful lyrics. The sad thing is all of it's true.

  • @steggieone Sadly, ever word of this song is true.....

  • @steggieone

Alice doesn't seem afraid to speak the truth. Love the real-ness to his stuff.

  • brutality and metal woot my two fav things thanks alice cooper

  • this is some pretty heavy stuff

  • A great song from the most underrated lyricist all over the world : ALICE COOPER

    ROCK ON

  • No question one of his best albums, brutal metal or creativity.

  • ever notice that alice sounds a lot like oscar the grouch?close your eyes and picture the can.

  • Holy cow, he does! I never noticed that before.

Of course, since I've always adored Oscar (second-favorite character, next to The Count), this only makes me like Alice more :D

  • Wait a minute... now someone HAS to make a video of Oscar the Grouch singing this song.

Maybe the guy who does Sad Kermit could do it?

I would SO love to see a video like that. Oh man.

  • I love this song, heavy shit, just like its supposed to be :D Cooper kicks ass, like he never actually age, with some luck he will live for all eternity...

  • >:[ he better live for all eternity. hes a god among gods ! :D

  • Along Came a Spider was A Kick Ass Album..Vengeance is Mine

    Catch Me If You Can

    The One That Got away

    Wake The Dead

    I Am The Spider

all Kicks ass Songs off the album

  • i dont know i like along came a spider he does good for a 61 year old man

  • man, right now my favorite alice in the one in chains but this song really gets me interested in another alice.

  • the guitar playing rocks !

  • And the sound of Alice's voice its sooo like Dave Mustaine's....or maybe its the other way round, lol.

  • I always think the same thing.LOL

  • Nah you can tell the difference between the two, just check out Megadeth's cover of No More Mr. Nice Guy

  • Amen to that.

  • GREAT song!!!

  • You know, this was a really underrated album. Dragontown, the follow up, sucked a big one though.

  • There were only 2 good songs on "Along Came a Spider."

  • which?

along came a spider wasnt as good as dirty diamonds but dirty diamonds was GREAT.

  • I am the spider and Vengeance is mine.

  • Can someone please explain this song's lyrics..

I don't understand the two contrasting sides and why Alice would use the two ..

    please don't flame :P

  • if what you mean is why do the women singer's say "this world is such perfection, from up here it looks so nice"

i think its to show how ignorant people are of the bad that goes on in the world

  • Well, only Alice knows. But it's art, and the two contrasting sides make for a good song IMHO. I could see how some people would think the world is just "fabulous," lol. And I can see how other people could see the world as a hell. In the real-world, commercial interests try to make things all nice and pretty so you'll spend your money on useless shit. In the mean-time there are very real problems that are in desperate need of being addressed. I.E. more than 80% of the world lives <$10/day

  • I think he's trying to explain the darker side things that have happened since recorded time and the darker side of humans in general.

  • Brutal Planet is a perfect theme song for the legendary Fallout franchise.

  • agreed

  • This is an underrated alice cooper gem from his metal "era"...long live the coop

  • My favorite Alice album!

  • Killer song with a killer message. This is my favorite song live. Thanks for posting this!!

  • alice cooper rocks

  • i think this song sounds better live.

on the other hand i heard it live first so maybe that's why =/

  • THIS is REAL metal, not that crap that other people my age listen to now (screamo crap)

  • regular people call anything with rough vocals "screamo" so are you talking about ACTUAL screamo, or all music that doesn't have clean sung vocals?

  • Saw him last night in vernon, it was the best concert i've ever seen

  • Ultra

  • SAW HIM LAST NIGHT!!! wish he woulda played this. brutal planet is my favorite cooper album.

  • nice

    e

    eeeee!

  • yeah. Alice can evolve with the times. Other acts from his era (KISS) could not.

  • nice :D

  • like it!

  • cool
