Cool stuff Brian - nice harp work. I got the version on Commander Cody Let's Rock LP. Bill Kirchen is a Telecaster Master - saw him at the Lowell Folk Fest a few years ago - he ripped.
Ride own Meetch! Welcome aboard and tnx fer watchin & the nice comments. I gotta find a way to hear TripleThick live..you guys are a hard-rockin outfit ain't no doubt about it.
Hi,Don & Nick - Thanks for the nice remarks - Bill's an old friend from Bay Area days (I was in The Cleanliness & Godliness Skiffle Band and part of the Masked Marauders project, also had the privilege of playin harp with Mississipi Fred McDowell,Willie Dixon,Charlie Musselwhite and of course jammin with the Commander Cody guys as we shared the bill often at Mandrake's in Berkeley)and he made it easy for me. Blackie & I thank everyone. Cheers,Brian Voorheis.
Angelica- you're obviously a big fan of Bill's- I am too- I am counting down the days to his next trip to the UK- it can't be soon enough! We need a good twanging- everyone I get to see Bill just loves him so much! He's an inspiration.
Yes, Bill mentions that in the song- to get Blackie and Brian to do their stuff at the funeral- my point is that Bill's "funeral" with his ad libs is going to be one hell of a crazy entertainment- most "unfunereal". I have been listenting to this song since The Commander's "Let's Rock" album back in the 80s- Bill on vocal.
Great album, players and tunes, incl Truck Stop At The End Of The World & Home of R&R. Bill was the believer in "RBF" from git-go & is #1 advocate for Blackie's superb writing. Thanks again,Nick! Brian V.
Brian. Mandrakes- that's where "Tutti Frutti" was recorded on "Hot Licks etc" . My brother did his PhD at Berkeley- I have never been there even though I stayed in the Bay Area for 3 months in'78. Claude Arthur said Bill would return to the UK in May- Bill's playing has encouraged a friend to "hit the road" at 65- He's on YouTube- Mungo Jerry- Long Legged Woman back in 74- the one with a guitar player!
Bill is da man. Long live the king.

Right on Nick. I was blown away by, Brian living about 15 miles from this venue and happened together and added a lot to this performance.

Yeah, Bill's "Rockabilly Funeral" is going to make "The Dyin' Crapshooter's Blues" funeral look like a genteel tea party in an Old Folks' Home.
