  • I always loved this song. Great passion and songwriting, The Alarm are the real deal..

  • biggest fan ever david adam phillips

  • Saw them once at Royal Court in Liverpool....I've never seen an audience so connected to a band before or since. From the opener Deeside they tore the place apart! unforgettable!

  • I miss them. I know the band still exists now with Mike Peters, but it's not the same as the original, with Dave Sharp, Eddie MacDonald and Twist. They were absolutely amazing live when I used to see them in the 80s

  • And now... were living under torie rule. Fuckers are tryin to kick us back down again. Fuck the tories!

  • followed this band for nearly 30 years, Mike Peters sings with more passion these days. Sadly this song is just as relevant now as it was then

  • An amazing song from a great band. This song means so much to me being born on Deeside and being one who never crossed this picket line. To the 8000 workers who lost their jobs and livelehoods. You are always in my heart. 22 years in that works and these days all I can ask is what was it all for?

  • Saw these twice in the early eighties despite the mullets they still sound class.

  • Tryin to think ,What year was this? bout 83-84?

I'm from broughton(down the road) remember the steelworks and all that this was maggies era the fuckin bitch!

  • @gibbo1968

No, it was closed under Labour, mate.

  • Loving Eddies back growl in this song!!

  • Dave Sharp = Most Underrated Rock Guitarist of the 1980's -Period.

  • Great live version of a band at the height of their powers!

  • i used to live in Deeside,N. Wales

near deesde leisure center ,and the last band to play there was the Jam..

  • I was @ that gig, I saw them twice there, the records supported then the first time and these guys the second.

  • 1985! la mia svolta Rock!

  • Epic

  • Oh boy I was at the steelworks when the strike was called 3 months out 8000 jobs gone in one hit. in Mike's own words

"Is this what you wanted Is this what you really want. Is this what you wanted from into the 21st centuary".
