James P. Johnson was a very famous composer and pianist. He is considered the inventor of the "stride piano" style. You should be proud to be named after him... even if it's accidental!

Ok, thanks, Not to be Dumb, but how do I ask there? This rendition here is very much like the sheet music. The JPJ 1930 recording is much more fun in my opinion, but Patrick has definitely improved on the sheet music as written.

This is my favorite of James P's pieces.. has a sorta novelty feel to it.. Pat plays it just a tad to fast for my taste.. but when it comes to this music, as long as you don't lose the rhythm, it's great! Thanks Ron!
