  • J. D. Reminds me of Alan Rickman!

  • Crikey, Twister, I'll never play poker against you. You are a cunning old devil, lol.

Lark Rise is set in 1895. New Zealand women had the right to vote in 1893 :-)

  • brillant series, plus i had the pleasure of been at candleford,on wednesday 11th august 10

  • Robert is such a bastard in this one, he insults his wife and demeans her work in fornt of everyone and then when she insults him back he throws a fissy fit

  • I agree, violetdrakine...he has strong principles but wow, he crosses a line here...

  • James is a doll!

  • Dorcas and Mr. Doland are one of the best couples ever!

  • Luv this show, nothing like this in US unfortunately. I know this is superficial but I just love the outfits Dorcas wears especially the hats.

  • One of the reasons I love this show is because it doesn't have any modern rubbish, like sex and all that!

That's why I love shows like this, Poirot, Miss. Marple, Sherlock Holmes etc.

  • Love this! Why is it we can't buy this in the US?? I want it, but can't have it! Why is that??? Why don't they sell it here?

  • Lark Rise to Candleford series 1 is available on DVD on the BBC site right now. I assume series 2 will be available later.

  • James and Dorcas Robert and Emma both disagreeing over a womans role in society although Robert is more offensive about his opinions.

Thomas is nervous about riding rhat bicycle Twister and Alf are so funny.

  • i wonder how Thomas would have reacted to a motorcycle... :)

  • Thank you! I love how Dorcas and James bicker!
