It's just that when your keyboard doesn't have the ¨¨¨¨ key, usually people use the 'e' after 'u' in order to ressamble the sound. As bizarre as it may be, even in the box from the Palast Der Republik DVD it is written "Einstuerzende".

@fapc666 also some fonts will not accept Euro characters, so the old "ue" acts as a stand-in, however there are some words that have a ue, ae, oe, and another vowel besides it that is not pronounced as the dipthong, so when written with the e added, it can confuse foreigners.
