hAD my miata in the Garage since May 2011 wondering which swap to go with!!!! JZ or RB the little 1.6 cant give me a constant 9.6 1/2 mile for $2000-3500 buget relible
@ThePiratePornoBay I do not really know. The small radiator scares me so I am upgrading to a 26x16x3 radiator. This will be way over kill but I will not have overheating issues not that I had any before just a precaution.
Does that thing have Overheating issues at all with the Radiator being so small? I wanna downsize mine and i figure if you can get away with a honda size radiator with no problems so can i :D thanks.
@DarkSifu It gets warm but has never overheated. I have also never taken it on a long trip or anywhere when it was really hot outside. I am worried about the small radiator so I am upgrading to a bigger one.
I'm curious, what chassis reinforcement has been done to this. And, I know this will take a few grand in suspension and steering components (unless you fabricated it yourself). How did you get that straightened out?
@mthura Because of the heavier engine and boatloads more torque that the suspension and frame will be taking that the miata was not designed to withstand. Massive upgrades in power always go hand in hand with chassis re-enforcement and suspension upgrades. Not to mention, completely upsetting the one really decent thing about the miata, its 50-50 weight distribution. Without upgrades to help the miata handle such an increase in power and torque, it will probably handle like shit.
@what240sx You're just bench racing. Unless Mr.2JZMX5 puts wrinkle walls on his miata and starts doing 1.2s 60 foot times the frame is not going to have any problems. 50/50 weight is not the only good thing about a stock miata. It doesn't sound like you've ever driven one. Also no, you don't have to have good suspension with shitloads of power.
@ColtonKuhn1 and in saying b4, one might think you've never seen a grammar book. I'm really struggling to hold my temper here... You sir, are retarded, if you think, that, that 2jz-gte engine, is a diesel. Black smoke, DOES NOT CONSTITUTE being a diesel, you pinheaded, arrogant, ignorant, asshole. That's the motor that Toyota used in the Supra, as well as a variety of other cars, to include; but not limited to, the lexus sc300, and is300, as well as others. YOU'RE an incompetent moron. I have

@ColtonKuhn1 had it, with fucking trolling assholes on youtube, who think they know something, when in reality, they couldn't tell the difference between a pushrod and a swaybar end link.... Not only that, but you called it dumb, and continued to go on about how a mid engine car could use the torque of a diesel. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT! In original form, Miata's have a dam near PERFECT weight distribution, as you would find in a mid-engined vehicle. With a 2j, it's probably a bit
@ColtonKuhn1 a diesel engine, and a gasoline engine. Then, tell me the difference between an OHC motor, and a pushrod motor. Or, explain what a torque converter is, and it's purpose. And finally, next time your brain, says, "Wow, that's a dumb car, I'm going to troll the comments, because I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about," either don't type anything, OR GO DRIVE OFF A CLIFF! This is assuming that you know what a cliff is, and that you know how to operate, or are even old enough
@ColtonKuhn1 to legally operate a vehicle. By the way, my next task is to go look at your channel and take a dump in your comment sections, and pretend I have no idea what I'm talking about.

nice but lame that its not a GTE engine just an NA :( are u capable of completing a full exit exhaust or is it so cramped that u can only make it exit through the hood... id like to do the swap if only i can make it powerful but legal at the same time lol.
I was saying do a chevy ls1 2 or 3. They cost less for the most part and dont require much to get power plus they are lighter. And there are swap kits all over the place to do it reletively easily.
@yodar1 If you run a little bit smaller turbo I would recomend a ball bearing T3 framed turbo you could deffinatly run full exhaust. This car now is getting fitted with a GT42 and the turbo is mounted backwards so the exhaust will be going out the fender.
@ADonathan retard. NA 2jz came out with a dissy. 2jz VVTi also came out with a dissy. i know cos i used to have a 2jzNA soarer sc300 and it had a dissy. they just did a NA-T conversion. Converted an NA 2jz to Turbo.
@corollafrenzy Not sure yet I have not seen any high temps yet but I am still working on the car went with a bigger turbo and AEM FI/C for better tuning. I did not see any problems but I also do not have a hood and when I do it will be very little of a hood witch greatly helps with this problem.
@FoxBodyMike87 No I did not have to cut the fire wall at all. The motor currently sits about 1/5 and inch from it. With the egr block off the back of the head. That saved me about a half inch.
I would guess the handling is pretty well ruined with that big heavy iron 6 hanging out past the front axle.. But who cares!! There are plenty of other miatas that still handle fine!, This is a rare monster here.
@TwoJZnoSHIT I think I needd AEM or stand alone of some sort for that. I am currently looking for a way to do it and run the stock ecu. I know it would be easier with stand alone but hey this is what I got.
Looks like the 2jz Ge Not the real 2jz, Have the same motor in my Lexus 1994 gs300... Looks like this one even has the traction control..Big difference in 2jz and 2jz GE...(LOT SLOWER AND WEAKER, 240hp stock..)
@MrKaution1234 So the GE is not a real 2JZ? They were rated at 200 and 210 hp stock. The only difference in the GE and the GTE is the pistons, headgasket thickness, oil squirters, and other minor details that dont make a difference when boosting the motor.
