  • i understand if you're from Massillon and feel the need to protect your programs pride but they aren't very impressve. the fans are incredible but lets face it, its all they got. these kids have ego's that shoot through the roof thanks to this town. they let the cameras into their party? dont get me wrong, we all drank in high school too, but these guys have a chance to play at the next level and your d-linemen is puking into a cooler. didnt you just go 4-6? we have better programs in california

  • Massilion has tradition, no doubt about that, but as a program lately they are very overrated. dont let that 22 State Titles fool you, there are like the Notre Dame of high school football in Ohio, all of those titles are paper titles that came before the OSHAA playoff system came into place in 1972.

  • This is a movie about football, a tradition, not education. So calm the fuck down, and with over 800 wins, 22 state champion titles, the top facility in america, and a spot in ESPN titletown. Massillon IS football... And if Ohio knows nothing about football, why was Canton and Massillon the first two NFL teams? And why is the HOF in Ohio? @HateTheRapperWhoEats

  • This movie sucks. Ohio doesn't know anything about football. Texas is where it's at. Massillon sucks.

  • @HateTheRapperWhoEats but wait massillon is the winningest team in football

  • @HateTheRapperWhoEats i thought the only sport in texas was queer killing?

  • I hate football and this fanaticism only reinforces it

  • My kids went to Jackson, and they got a SUPER education (Massillon Jackson consistently receives SUPERIOR rankings from the Ohio BOE, and ALWAYS scores at the top of Stark County schools for state proficiency tests), but I wish the powers that be at Jackson would start taking our football program as seriously as they do at Massillon. LET'S GO BEARS! (Oh....and for you Tiger fans....."T-I-G........E-R-S!" ;)

  • @1229willow i used to be in jackson

  • Two words: Paul Brown... 'nough said.

  • Competitive school sports always get more deference than academics. If there's a pep rally for the football team, I wonder "is there one for the debating team, mock trial team, and the kids who volunteer at the nursing home?"

When you have sports so that the kids stay off the streets, that's perfect.

But when you use sports as a ticket to wealth, it becomes a one-way ticket to poverty.

  • massillon father of football!!!! i really mean it to massillon and mckinley were the first 2 teams ever. paul brown 2 best coach eva john madden 1st

  • HELL YA!!!!! MASSILLON RULES BITCH!!!! :p

  • hilliard davidson is the new dominate team

  • GO MASS!!!!!!!!! BEAT STUPID VILLE TONIGHT! GO HOME! BEAT THEM BEAT BEAT BEAT!!!!!!!! WE ARE~ MASSIILLON!!!!!!!

  • OHIO is football !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check out the comeback Steubenville Big Red !!!!

  • I dont like sports but after watching this trailer I hate sports

  • jmaug6 does have a point, St. Ignatius does probably have the best football program in Ohio. On the other hand, "Go Tigers" shows how passionate people are about football in the state as a whole. Texas may have the best high school football but Ohio is not far behind.

  • @PUCK271 ohio and texas teams need to start back playing and not terrible oho teams like la salle im talking the best of the best because i think ohio teams would win

  • Okay, first of all I respect Football, it is one of the greatest sports in the world.(Go Packers!!!!) So I am not hating on it. All I am saying is how about you all go and play a real mans sport like Water polo or Rugby. Live Water Polo, Breath Water Polo, Die Water Polo. I will have to say Football comes in a close third. Okay you all can start hating on me. I asked for it. Hahaha just had to say my thoughts.

  • lil jealous?

  • one more thing real quick football was not born their and jus becaus u has a couple brothas on yo team doesnt classifi u as not being hicks

  • I love how funny this is 9 miles from the hall of fame come on u cannot compare that with mckinley because we is the hall of fame and we made football not the kitties and massilion is not a little america thats biased because the mayor said that mck all day baby what i say

  • This is revolting.

  • how many real championships do you have and when was the last

    Mck all day

  • bitch ass mothafukas

  • How could you even talk about beating St. Iggy this year when steubenville held you to 3 points this year hahahahahahaahahahahaha.

  • Glenville run dis bitch!

  • as a teacher, I find this to be pathetic. Masillion schools are under funded, local unemployment is above the national average, and local average annual income is $10,000 below the national average. and yet, the football team has a $3,000,000 training facility. this is insulting to my intellect. maybe i'm just big city and don't understand "small town America", but this is wasted money. it could buy so many textbooks, computers, hire new teachers...

  • I'm from Massillon. The people that leave the town agree with you. it's pointless fighting it.

  • Oh, and just to clarify, I agree with you. I'm currently in college and Massillon is the last place I plan on living.

  • @dinardo1910 i know rite im a kid to

  • @dinardo1910 You're an idiot. Stop being a hater. THIS is what Ohio football is all about. THIS is where it all started. THIS is where boys are made into men. If you want education, go to a private school. If you want football, go to Massillon... GO TIGERS!

  • @Nicl3706 ...if you want education, go to a private school? sigh. it is because of neanderthals like yourself that this country's education system is ranked so far behind European and East Asian countries. math, science, and reading are all behind, and yet you thinks that public schools are for sports? i surmise that you do not understand the first thing about public education and its vital roll in a nation's economic and social well-being.

  • @dinardo1910 Well, I didn't mean idiot per se, but why do you have to take away from the passion these people have for something that was BORN in this area of the here? I, myself went to a private school. One of the top 100 schools in the entire country in terms of academics. I LIVED ine Europe for a brief time, and their education system is not that much more advanced than ours if at all. And, neanderthal? I'm 5'9 and about 170. All I'm saying is that nobody likes a hater. Let them have this.

  • @dinardo1910 As a teacher, I find your grammar to be pathetic. They're really letting someone like this educate children? That is an insult to MY intellect. I am a graduate of Massillon and received a fine education. I graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University, thus proving that the school more than prepared me for my collegiate education.

  • i live in massillon.. this town is crazy football town out our butts. But we are who we are. Becuz This is Ohio we are. GO Tigers

  • dude Im from Massillon it was the fact that we may be going into the federal league and can onbly play federal league teams

  • Massillon,Its Crazy. Football is like the heart of the City,Its the one thing almost everyone has in Common,Its the love for The Tigers(: Massillon-McKinley week is psycho,Its so muchh fun. People need to know how it Is here,Bet they will love it to,. I bleed Orage&Black.I moved to Cleveland a year ago,But It aint Home,Massillon Is&Always will Be(:

  • How many players made it to the NFL?

  • Infact Crable plays for the Patriots, Zwick plays for the Panthers, Spielmann, Paul Brown, Steve Luke and others

  • quick question. if u were to take only the athletes that live and have lived their whole life within the ignatius area, they probably wouldnt win 1 game at ne sport

  • people come from all because its a great school, the majority of the kids there dont even play a sport. why dont u think before u speak? u wish u had a fraction of the education that ignatius offered, but instead, u like massillon because ur a hick. in ur video, u claim to breed ur boys to play football, but they still arent the best, some kids on our team started playing freshman year and can kick ur ass in football. (and its spelled 'parochial')

  • Comment removed

  • that's not a question. and completely untrue. ignatius doesn't make cuts and doesn't recruit. people just generally like to go there cause it's the sickest school ever

  • no it really aint they recruit

  • they really probably would take the '99 team and dont forget the 05 team that BEAT Iggy fuck iggy

  • hahah you are just embarrassing yourself, stop now

  • Ignatius is a lot more than the best football school in the state. It also boasts the #1 ranked soccer team, a Blue Ribbon Award (only one other high school received this award) an unparalleled amount of service to our community, and we have more State Championship victories than any other team in Ohio. But no, you're right, Ignatius sucks.

  • until OHSAA passes the bill that puts perocial school into their own league. it will be a while until a public school can dominate. mostly beacause of the different ways of requiring athletes into their school.

  • were not a parochial school you dumbass.

  • @jmaug6 Yea, I agree with you. Ignatius and St. Ed's are better in sports. But you have you consider that they are Division 1 and all boys, so naturally they have more talent to choose from. I'm from Massillon, and I can guarantee that the passion and turnout and a Massillon/Canton McKinley game beats any "friday night lights" in Texas. I think it's natural to make a movie about the schools football history, this is the city with the first pro team.

  • @jmaug6 Ignatius is also a private school, and you have such a great football team because you can easily recruit amazing players to your school, so bragging about your athletics isn't that impressive.

  • everybody from massilon is hick

  • hahaha wow thats ignorant we're all hicks huh? so your saying Brian James Gamble Shawn Crable Bryan Sheegog are hicks? hahahah wow.

  • Too bad they cant beat Cleveland St. Ignatius and they begged us to take them off our schedule.

  • no they realyl didnt dumb ass fuck

  • yeah, they really did

  • This is a complete joke. We played down last night and still ran train on Massillon. Good luck winning a D1 State Championship now that you won't even play the best.

  • u ran train on us. u were down the whole 2nd half. then ur paid refs jumped in. we got an interception and they called a defensive holding call on our olb 40 yards away from the play

  • false. we dont pay refs. u wish we did, because it would justify your loss. But losing to the best team shouldnt be as bad as u guys make it. WERE THE BEST, so ur not supposed to beat us

  • ok even if u dnt "recruit" u still get players from all over the state. not all of ur players r raised through 1 school system, so its not "recruiting' but u still get extra players through open enrollment just like stuebenville. not to compare iggy to steubenville.

  • noooooo. we get kids cleveland and the suburbs. they choose to come to us. we do not recruit or get players from all over the state. IN FACT if you live in cleveland and not a suburb, you have a better chance of getting into ignatius,

  • not entirely true, if you live in cleveland, then you qualify for some financial aid but you still have to have the grades first. the admissions board doesnt even look at athletics, they view each applicant as a number and look at test grades, gradeschool report cards, recommendation letters, and that sort of stuff. Sure, a coach could scout out prospective students in 8th grade, but they arent offered any money or even a spot in the class if they cant get there themselves

  • hahahahahaha your the best team? hahahahahaha wow thats ignorant you aint anywhere close to the best my money is you wont even make it to state and infact if you do Moeller is gonna win or St X good luck tho if we meet again, Im sure the refs wont be paid then again lets look back at the 05 game that ya'll tried to cheat us out of and dont say you didnt I was right there on the sideline dumbfucks

  • too bad they get shit on by St. Ignatius so much that they are too pansy to play them. TO BE THE BEST YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE BEST! Massillon wont have that chance anymore,

  • i have 1 question 4 u, how many people from team got recruited? what u cant compete unless u recrit?

  • jmaug6 has a good point. Massillon is not the best, Will not be the best. AND NO LONGER CAN be the best. Ignatius does not recruit for football (known fact), there are not cuts for football (known fact). Recruiting is something tigers fans tell themselves to take away the sting of getting their asses kicked. wake uo and smell the fertilizer. Your team sucks, and youre lying to urself about it

  • hahahaha hahahahaha hahahahaha us get our asses kicked get to steppin little boy we aint got our asses kicked by you this year ya'll got lucky when we make it to round 4 we'll see who the best team in Northern Ohio is ya'll might not even make it I bet

  • To bad they can never beat Cleveland St. Ignatius. And are to scared to play them anymore. GO WILDCATS!!

  • you are truly a bum loard

    GO CATS

  • can u say, "got cheated"

  • hey **** head if massillon gould fu*kin recruit from all over the state it wouldnt even be a match. and this year massilon beat ignatius if the refs didnt cheat every call for u, iggy aint sh*t this year, we'll see u again, if u can beat glenville agian, its nice to know that you used the same refs from the glenville game u did for us, and the same refs u guys are gunna have at the St. x game. you cheatin a**es

  • yeah I used to play for MMS (Mass illon Middle School) i was going to play at WHS but moved to San Diego, now I'm playing for some gay ass team called the Point Loma "Pointers" (a fucking hunting dog for god sakes.) I still have my collection of Massillon memoribilia in my room though. GO TIGERS!!!

  • too bad they get schooled by ignatius every single fucking year

  • is there an online link to this movie?

  • lol i go to mckinley this is making us look lame im not gonna lie

  • Shit it aint lying then McKinley is lame

  • Its like, the real life version of the series Friday Night Lights.

would be an amazing thing to play for the Massillon Tigers

  • psycheeee.

    try ignatius wildcats, bro

  • School sports are difficult to navigate, for adults and the kids.

On one hand, sports are very appealing to some kids, and it seems like the only thing that gives them ambition.

On the other hand, it's a big gamble if you put sports above academics. What if you don't get that football scholarship? Tear your ACL and can't play football? Lose the scholarship? Don't get into the NFL?

In a town like this, there's a lot of dissatisfied former high school athletes. Now they're nobody.

  • at massillon we force players to have good grades and u can ask anybody in town and they'll tell u its better to play at massillon than in the nfl

  • I was on this team when the film was being made. It was an amazing experience
