First I will say that Christian is one of my favorite metal vocalists of all time.

That said, I think people give WAY much attention to the vocalist. These awesome songs would not even exist if it wasn't for the guitarists. The drummer, Henrik, is responsible for the deep lyrics that Scar Symmetry is so well known for. So SS doesn't sound EXACTLY the same without Christian: get over it. The main contributors are still there, and they grow better and better with each album.

Christian is a very good singer in a technical sense, being able to combine two styles convincingly takes a lot of ability. That said, he's a pretty generic growler, he wouldn't be anywhere near the best in that field, his clean vocals while hiting the well, are not quite up there with the Dickinson's and Tate's of this world.

I don't know why people are saying the new guys suck: I saw them in concert and they were spot-on with both the new songs and the old ones. Also, having two vocalists makes perfect sense: I talked to the guitarists after a concert and they told me Christian was blowing out his voice screaming all the time so his clean vocals would suck on tour. When you have a guy completely-dedicated to singing, he can preserve his voice for the tour and the other guy can scream without inhibition.

Yeah, some people fail to understand that, however simple and obvious it is. Besides, on Holographic Universe there were a lot of parts where growls and cleans existed simultaneously, so no wonder Christian didn't want to tour. A man can't split in half, and Jonas and Per aren't that good at cleans. Besides, Christian's singing, as wicked it is to admit it, is not without its flaws too. I've never heard him sing with that Hetfield-like anger, which would be fitting at times.

I have heard leaked songs. The growling is EXTREMELY similiar (if I remember correctly). The clean vox are very different, yet good. Look up some leaked songs on here. They're bad quality, but you may find one that may be good enough to understand whats goin on >_>

Have you heard the leaked songs? It's still Scar Symmetry, just a different edge. It works really well, as now they can do things that with Christian they couldn't, even live. Though the uniqueness of Christians voice is what makes these songs so good for me. Basically I think people will still like the new album, but it will always be different. At least it won't be as bad as when Nightwish replaced Tarja

Meh, Howard Jones is okay but he isn't a patch on Christian. I quite like Jones's cleans (even if his lyrics are dead cheesy), but Christian's are better and on the growl/scream front, Christian blows Howard clean out of the water and ten miles up. Actually he does that to pretty much every growler, screamer, 'cept maybe Randy Blythe, Mikael Akerfeldt and early Anders Friden.

Ever since my previous message I've been thinking of a better solo. I checked out my old stuff (van Halen, Vai, Queensryche, Cacophony, Gary Moore, Dream Theater). Saw new ones [for me] (Dimmu Borgir! Insanely Amazing Guitar Solo (wow dude), Jerry C./Funtwo, Dragonforce, Opeth. Still, this solo is my all time favorite... The style, guitarsound and creativity. 2nd for me is Alexander the Great by Iron Maiden. 3rd, maybe? Vicious Rumors - The Crest.
