@TheMeganJaeger I have a IG/Rat terrier mix and he does it too! Although, it more closely resembles a meowing sound. haha. Now I'm pretty sure its his IG side that he gets it from:)

Haha! Sounds like my IG when she gets angry and restless. We are the new owners of an IG and all she wants to do is cuddle and sleep and sit on our laps. She is unfriendly and timid around others. Although that is normal in the breed, her weight isn't. She is way too fat. We take her on regular walks and have cut way down to 1/2 cup of dog food a day. She weights about 17 pounds and we can't seem to get her down to an average weight of about 13 pounds, Do you have any other suggestions?

My dog (part IG part boston or so the rescue place thought) almost never makes noise.

He's a nervous little guy though so he does whine a bit when he gets uncomfortable.

He's barked twice since I adopted him, once at another dog and once at a kid who tried to pet him and totally did it all wrong. I just don't let strangers pet him any more, but people always want to because he's cute as a button.

ours did the same thing... especially if held her and pointed out some birds sitting in a fence, then asked her if she wanted to get them. the IG dog actually thinks it's talking to its owner, i'm convinced! their bark is very deep and throaty, especially from their small and delicate size - not yappy at all.

I named my two boys after china companies because they are so much like fine china. One is Dresden and the other is Capodimonte or Capo. China talks good. My guys are yodelers, not necessarily talkers. So cute!

Scorpiokat: Contrary to popular belief, ears back and tail tucked isn't necessarily bad. The tail naturally carries itself that way. They tend to be a little high strung but if the dog were upset it wouldn't be vocalising. Most iggies, including my own, would shut down or flee like the dickens under stress.

muzzleloader89, italian greyhounds are related to greyhounds, they are just smaller. an ig (italian greyhound)is a product of selective breeding and there fore are related to greyhounds
