  • I Should buy this on PC for 15 euros?

I love racing online but everyone is on DiRT 3 now?

I'm scared to find nobody online, I've tryed the demo and it's cool

  • @0nl1n3Dud3ITA just buy dirt 3. the online community is great

  • I just installed Dirt 2 for PC, and am having many issues. First, GFWL asks me to log in using an existing Windows Live id--so I do that. Then it says there is an update available,so I allow that. Then, I am asked log in again--and it keeps on looping back to the update. I can only get into the game by not logging in--auto save is disabled. And now after setting to higher res (supported by display) I have no picture--just black screen with voices, etc. I am downloading Patch 1_1. Any suggestions?

  • @DiGiTaLdAzEDM for me i have to download patch 1.1 then go back into the game, it will download the update then after that it will finally download my profile, hope this helps.

  • @PCgamer29388 Yeah, I figured it out awhile ago--thanks for the help. Think you can help me on how to drive the cars? I suck at it pretty bad--lol. Using keyboard--I wonder how much a good wheel would help? Flight sims and shooters are more my thing.

  • @DiGiTaLdAzEDM i use a Xbox 360 controller it works the best for me, and when you get one program the Brake/reverse button to A and the E-brake to Left Trigger, then when about to go around a corner hit A for 1 second then turn the opposite way your want to go to stay in control. Watch my gameplay vikdeo that might help you out aswell.

  • Why is Pastrana driving his rally car in rallycross track? 1:05

  • Why is this DX11 so special? I mean:

I play this game on Xbox 360, 42 inch screen, dynamic contrast, HD 720p at 600Hz. It looks WAAAY better than on PC. If you want good graphics, go buy a nice TV instead of a PC, wich fails half of the time to play a game with decent graphics. XD

  • @BurnerJorre

get a gtx460 and ANY console go to hell xD, a high end pc is more powerful ,seriously

  • @blued3 Even if you have the best gfx card in the world, as soon as they bring out a game with higher specifications than you have, you're doomed to buy a new one. And that problem has been solved with the invention of next-gen gaming-consoles. Take a look at GT5. It's almost like real, however you should know that the ps3 can handle a lot more than those graphics. Get the point?

  • @BurnerJorre

You mean last-gen. The PS3 was made in 2006. The only reason games look as they do today is because they're being made mostly to work with the outdated hardware.

  • @MBFtrace Euhm, GT5 doesn't look last gen to me (just as a lot of other games) XD.

All games are still improving. The full power of the PS3 hasn't been showed yet. The only problem with PS3-games is that they are not easy to program. GT5 took like 6 years to get finished. But the result is worth it.

  • @BurnerJorre GT5 Took 2 years to program. The engine was used in GT5 Prologue, and I have no idea what they've been doing the last 3 years.

The PS3's power has never been utilized only if you also agree the PC's power has never been utilized, or the Xbox's power has never been utilized.

  • @MBFtrace If the pc's max power has never been utilized, why are they constantly making new graphic cards then? The PS3 was released in 2006, however it is stiil capable to play games that were released in 2010 with max quality. A pc or gfx-card from 2006 will not be able to play the same game at max settings.

  • @BurnerJorre First off... if the PS3 hasn't been updated, how would they release games that required newer hardware?

Also, did you not realize that the 8800 series of GPU came out in 2006, which can play any game that a console can play at max settings? Or are you just clueless?

  • @MBFtrace I'm not clueless. In theory, you have a point about the 8800 GPU. But it's just a fact that in the time they release one new gaming-console, people who have a pc need to replace their gfx card twice or even 3 times to not have any compatibility problems with the newest games. NFS Hot pursuit is an example: If you have an ATI Radeon card, the game will crash because it can't handle the AA settings as it should. You don't get this problem with consoles.

  • Comment removed

  • @joshownz49709 The Xenos GPU in the xbox 360 uses a Daughter Die with 10mb eDRAM which does enable anti anialising. With other words: games rendered in 720p or higher definately use AA on xbox 360.

I think this discussion can go on and on forever. XD

  • @BurnerJorre Yea I know thats why I removed the comment before you replied, my mistake. They do use AA but not that much, up to 4xSAA.

  • @joshownz49709 I see. Well, that's true. But most of the time I don't realy care about AA. Also depends on the game your playing. Dirt 2 for example doesn't realy needs AA. GT5 does. Look at the shadows (jagged). That's the downside of PS3: no AA at all. :(

  • @MBFtrace i wanna see it playing metro 2033.

  • @MBFtrace no way an 8800 is going to manage every game at max settings even in sli, but many games, and some of those are probably still in development. its a very nice gpu no doubt but its still pretty far behind the times. but anyway trying to compare consoles to pc is like trying to compare an orange, to your own favorite fruit. on a pc you can do whatever you want, and get the results you want, but on a console you get what you get, an orange. if you like oranges, there is nothing wrong.

  • wow. looks raytraced. doubt it actually is though.

  • Gt5 is render at 1280x1080 if you have a 1080p tv(1440x1080 for replays) and has 4xaa on 720p mode, 2xaa on the 1280x1080p mode. Both run at 60 fps which is pretty impressive for a console game. Also the cars and tracks look better on gt5(much more refined and developed). From a sheer technological perspective though, dirt 2 dx11 on pc is better.

  • Thumbs up if PcUser69 is a sucker and never played this game.

  • so can you customize your own truck or car?

  • good game

  • OH GOD, I am salivating now.

  • after playing the original motorstorm 3 years ago... dirt 2 is like meh... even on my dx11 video card in 1080p 40fps all settings max

  • @iodyn it gets 40fps because codemasters knows how make an engine

  • Id just like to say this yall.. I recently had xp. and played dirt 2 on my comp . Using quad core BE 955 amd processor. 4 gigs of ram(since its xp it only utilized like 3 gigs) and nvidia gts 265

The game is amazing and looks great.. but then i upgraded to windows 7 not to long ago. The game had a HUGE upgrade!bugs.. and more debree in the air.. the flags flow way more real.. everything is crisper.. the water is better.. the people are a lil better.. dx 11 is super sweet :)

  • you mean dx10? cuz gtx 265 isnt compatible with dx11.

  • you do realize the Nvidia GeForce 200 series dont support directx 11 right?

  • @skateurself

your card doesnt support dx 11.. its maybe dx 10 or 10.1... faggette :/

  • Cool video

  • The water in particular looked incredible.

  • @l33tpete

yes, but it is not perfect.

  • whats the name of the song in this video. I really like it

  • Dinosaur Pileup-All Around the world.

But i dont know how to download it.

  • WoW Zintex8 you dont know what you are talking about, DB. ps DB = Douchebag.

  • Dynamic displacement mapping is really but the water looks like a lazy t-1000

  • Ouch DirectX 11, get it !

  • nice

  • oke windows 7 home premium 64bitt can have a directx11??

  • @JamesProduction0 Any windows 7 and windows vista can have directx11, but you need a directx 11 video, and that is only the ati radeon 5000 series, ex: 5750, 5770, 5850, 5870, 5970. those are the current video cards that support directx 11. in my opinion though the 5750, and 5770 are too weak to last long, 5850 is more than you need for the next

  • I guess 5750 and 5770 are supposed to run crossfire for DX 11 :) DX 11 isn't going to take that much performance either.. according to AMD's owner (or whatever you would call him) DX 11 will get you better framerates and won't take that much.. but it will take a little more than DX 10 i guess..

  • From what I heard, It puts the load on the CPU. This is why all DX11 games benefit from quad core.

  • yes

  • The same effects are on the XBOX360. How did that go without DirectX 11? Emulated?

  • uncharted2 won best graphics 2009 :s...

game trailers etc are morons i think..

  • I almost came at the part with the water

  • I just tried the demo on my laptop :O it looks amazing and this is only dx10

  • @psp785 dx9

  • O w.e

  • Looks like an 2003 rally simulator -_-

  • I think you need some glasses.

  • Nope.i got perfect eyes.and i can play it on max.and it looks pretty good yes.

  • its a sick ass game! graphics even look much better in game! i bought it thru games for windows live for 39.99 + tax. i would recommend this game totally. btw my pc has quadcore q6600, 6gbs ram and 8800gts 512 mb video card and max graphics 'cept for antialias which is 2x and i get 45fps average that is playable. i would decrease the other settings but wut can i do i love high graphics. So u dont need an i7 or something close but id recommend a quad. wut u gota worry about is the video card

  • You need a 5000 series ATI or wait until GT 300 to experience DX11. It makes the graphics way better.

  • yea man i know wut i mean but like i said i hav everything max cept for the antialias which 2x and im getting 45fps average using the 8800 which is playable and dont forget im using windows 7 so its directx11. btw wen is the gt300 coming out and thats the first time im hearing about it

  • Nah, only the new cards have the technology to support DX11. Currently, those are the GT 300 (coming out late January) and the ATI 5000 series which are out now.

I think you are probably on DX10. Windows 7 support DX11 but you need a DX11 card to use it.

Check out DirectX10 vs DirectX11 on youtube. Really big difference in graphics.

  • oh i see wut u mean so im running directx10. well thats kinda turn off! still graphics look so awesome. Ah man i cant wait for that gt300. im notta fan of ati

  • Same here im not a fan of ati , i have a 8660gt 512mb ddr3 overclocked and it runs almost any game with dx10 good at high sometimes very high, see thats the power of nvidia gpu's its great performence at great price!

  • thats my man ;) with nvidia u get wut u pay for

  • Almost Lifelike :)

  • dunno seem the same in dx10

  • you have no idea for detail if you think this is the same as dx10.. and also this is just a video.. you need to see it ingame on a PC.. you will drool trust me =D

  • when is this PC version coming out?

  • its out

  • Fuck !!

I can't believe, these are an amazing graphics, I gonna buy this game, and I gonna buy the game called Turok, I love the real graphics games :)

  • @PATRIENIX, but have you got a good enough rig?

They recommend an i7 or a Phenom II, 3GB of RAM, Vista or 7 for DX11, with a DX11 capable card.

    etc.

  • hii

  • By the way, I also seem to have that water 'displacement' in DX9? looks the same.

  • Lol I changed a few files to unlock the best possible quality on DX9, the files are located in your DiRT 2 folder, named SYSTEM, I edited the files called: hardware_settings_config -hardware_settings_options -hardware_settings_restrictions.

    Some things I did:

Enable Post Process High setting (Idk if it actually changes the game but w/e)

    Disable Motion Blur

Raise the shadow resolution on Ultra, default 1024, now 1536,max 4096.

And raised Quality stuff to maximal for alot of settings & more.

    OWND

  • awesome graphics

  • FInally, PC is king again. We applaud you, Codemasters.

  • will it works witch DirectX 10

  • ...shame the car physics are not as advanced as the flags and water - well done for getting your priories right again 'Codedisasters'...

  • This game look beautiful and psychics is awesome... But my computer is too weak so I could play DiRT 2 :(

  • song: Dinosaur Pileup All Around The World

  • wanna know the song name too.. so let us find out the lyrics.

    -

    "one thing to do"

    "all around the world"

    "so lets go"

    ?

  • the 5770 is only marginally slower and can easily be over clocked w/o changing voltage. It also runs cooler, shorter board length, and consumes less power. For less than the 4890, so it's still worth taking a look at imo.

  • I farted. But seriously I thought this was going to sway me to the DX11 cards but I guess I'll pick up a 4890 for the awesome price rather than the slower 5770 which is similar in price and much more readily available than the 5850.

  • you DO slow down if u hit water...

    stfu

i own the full game ;)

    ty inet

  • lol that water would be splashing everywhere 0:43

  • Is it the 8th yet? Can't wait- Demo was grerat- time to kick ass online

  • What is the name of the song

  • It is not staple yet, hopefully Nvidia will have new driver or the game will have a patch or something to fix the problem. 90% of people having "dirt 2 had stopped working" error :( I can't believe the game actually come out with such a serious error.

  • one of them meh.. how to fix totall game freeze after first races? who know :)) ?

  • Wow! LOL! Poor DX10... It's definately not gonna get a chance to shine now that THIS bad boy has stepped up to the plate.

  • What is the name of the band/song! I will paypal anyone with the right answer!

  • DX9... DX11... pretty much the same thing, but less fps... wow, gg Codemasters, let's all jump on the new DX bandwagon and hope more idiots buy our games based on fake promises.

What's more sad tho, is that you can see all that in the console versions as well. What a load of crock.

  • The DX11 version is much better than the DX9 and DX10 version. I've tried them out.

  • the game actually looks the same on dx9 to dx11..the only different shit is...the flags..which i still don't think it is any difference.cuz i dont whatch them..the water works the same as dx11 on dx9..but still im playing on a hd 3650 high details 1280x1924 and get 25-30 fps..the game looks almst the same as the vid..with the reflections dwngradet to high...but at least the game is ok as gameoplay..i like it

  • @sonicblast19 wtf kind of resolution is 1280x1924?

  • sorry your holiness and you "unwrong" maiden..i swapt the 0 with 9..how do i dare to do such a mistake...please forgive me

  • @sonicblast19 shut up gosh

  • eat me

  • -_-

  • The flag looks the same because it doesnt use hardware tesselation, the water does... if you had a dx11 card you would notice.

  • when Dirt 2 PC will be launched?

  • It is already released

  • @RepublicaBioshock Any day now. It got delayed a bunch of days, or not... not sure what the fuck happned. Either way, it's either released already or will be shortly.

  • We understand, that adding a polygons to the 3D model takes a long time, aswell as brainwashing us, PC users, until releasing DiRT 2 to PC.

P.S.: We are very happy to see glamour patch of lights, and lights itself. The only thing that wasn't worth waiting is new mapping water, which useless compared with new super flag. So, thank you.

    With all respect, PC users.

  • Dear Codemasters!

We, PC users, are very grapeful for your hard work on PC version of DiRT 2. We understand that porting a game from consoles with DirectX 9 to PC's with DirectX 11, which is compatible only with overpriced pieces of s**t, called 'high-end' video-cards, takes a very long time, and actually a few month. No doubt the waiting was worth it - the 'AlpineStars' flag now looks F*****G AWESOME with all it's millions of polygons.

  • @PcUser69 This is not a port you asshat. Stop calling every multiplatform game a port. There's a difference. However... speaking of differences, I can't seem to notice any between DX9 and DX11 in-game... still see dynamic water waves in DX9, complex mesh flags, dense good looking crowds and so on... what gives? Erm...

  • @PcUser69

are you being sarcastic? because this game is nowhere near a "full" DX11 game.

  • @PcUser69

    Cry less

  • @PcUser69

    Im grapeful too

  • Im running 2560 x 1600 max settings dx10 im sorry to say and getting 45 to 50 fps

No need to get a faster card than a 8800 gtx to be honest its just a waist of money.

  • Yeah im running corei7 965 + 12gb + 5870 at 1920 x 1200 res with ultra settings in dx11 and i get 65 fps

Demo looks amazing. Game comes out tomorrow for free on steam for radeon 5800 series owners.

  • Totally blown away. Looks like real life.

  • dx 11 is about as important as dx 10 turned out to be. Its a gimmick . There is no reason to upgrade to a dx11 card when the midrange 5 series cards run SLOWER than the 4850 ! What about all the kids that still wanted XP , whining how vista sucked. Now they are the experts telling others they need win7 dx11 and a 5750. FAIL , "kids".

  • No, DX10 was only a failure because Nvidia killed it by not supporting many of its new features. Microsoft capitulated and everything went to hell. Read your history.

DX11 reintroduces many of the new features that were supposed to be in DX10. It is a big step forward for gaming, and it will be the basis of the next Xbox. So it's here to stay.

  • well not realy nivida only had phisics driver problems with dx10 its fixed now but dx11 isnt supported by any card so its like wft?? but ur right all these fancy ass computers cant play the game maxed out

  • Whats the song???????

  • Guys, please, PLEASE, don't be bitches and BUY the game if you want it. support the few developers that still optimize their games for the pc. it only cost 40$ on steam and other disital stores and it's getting rave reviews.

  • 1:05 has anyone actually noticed that u CANT mix rally and rallycross cars in a race?

  • will be enjoying this on 2 HD 5850s(well only one initially)......providing they come back in stock any time soon....

  • ATI fail

  • Whats the song? I have been looking all day for it

  • fuckn'Shit They dont Realease it today Steam Mother fuckers now it will be released the 4 december must wait ^^

  • omg apparently the demos out later today

  • check out the tesselation

  • yeah mtxgamer me too ive got one copy and its no longer available but in 2 days from now i will download it ^^

I will maxed it out with my cor i7 920 and GTX275 plus my 8GB RAM G.Skil ^^

  • Still no DX11 for you.

  • You really think you'll max it out with your DX10 video card? lol. I lol at you!

  • Of Cours man I have 3-Way GTX275 why not it's time to lol at you now ^^ lmao

  • You're missing the point. The point is that your overpriced GTX cards can't run DX11. Therefore, it's impossible for you to max the game, nub.

  • All what i need is that the Game runs Better with good Graphics thats all ^^ noob ^^

  • Have fun knowing your $1,000+ SLi array can't run the game on full settings, nub.

  • DX11 has multithreading support and I just tested it out. I have 75 fps average with maxed out settings and only 1 5870 card.

  • Cant wait to play, I got a copy with my 5850 and it unlocks in 2days and 4 hours lol

  • dont worry i will maxed it out and i will send you a screenshoot ^^ and you say yes i'm a noob yes hahahaha

  • very nice but im dont buy new graphick card for 1 mayby 2 games...

  • Comment removed

  • So it's not anymore Colin Mc'Rae Dirt?

  • damn, when the demo comes out! :/

  • eh it's out

  • yep, finally...

  • i have preordred it in STEAM i will download the full version the firt of december ^^

or now i have the 3 best racing Games in the world

    - Need For Speed Shift

    - Racedriver GRID

    - DiRT 2 "Soon" ^^

Byt The way i'm waiting my Brand new Logitech G25 for a real racing ^^

    Thanks for the Video

    See ya

  • muaaaah i want this 1!!!!!

  • That part is the wave effect, at 0:56 you see the ingame effect, nerd.

  • Google DX11 and you will see allot of important stuff is going to be enabled... and gpu's aren't going to change when new consoles come out.... they will just use one of the PC GPU's out at the moment or something like it. PC GPU's kill console GPU's no comparison.

  • ... and show gameplay, correct?

Then... sorry, man, but we? are right to ask something. If I don't can do that, then what's this shit is for?

Look, I told about 0:56... this is a moment in-game (I guess). Don't cry for my questions, please. I will stop so. I'm turning in a robot and I will accept anything with my mouth shut.

(man... what rude... and I have played in X360. I see the same problem there).

  • Comment removed

  • Looking at 0:38 we don't see any splashing and the car isn't slow, but pause at 0:56, you will see that front of car is under water, then we will get a front water splash at window at real life, but not in game (it's only like tire smoke!!!)

Ok, the game is pretty, I only asking for a plus and I know wich have no more time.

  • Its a fuckin TECH demo, ITS TO SHOW the fuckin wave effect, looks normal in the gameplay videos so wtf is your problem guys? Go play the game rather than watching the tech demo and you'd realise the effect is as it should be.

  • Please improve the effect of water.

It's very far from the real effect.

I'm very anxious to have this game.

What are the improvements for people with DX10 cards compared to DX9? Show the difference, please.

  • ? hes driving slow into the water, it wont splash, it'll only wave.

  • Wow..... have you ever seen a car or water in real life, or have you been locked into your room since birth?

  • I have actually, but if you look at 0.55 it looks quite normal to me.

  • 0.56 is normal aye, but not the other one, thats completely off.

  • on 0:56 you will see that the water is splashing...

  • Recommended Specifications Enhanced for DirectX 11 * OS: Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7 * Processor: Intel Core i7 or AMD Phenom II * Memory: 3GB * HD Space: 10GB * Video Card: ATi Radeon HD 5700 Series

Minimum Specifications * OS: Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 * Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz, AMD Athlon 64 3400+ * Memory: 1GB (2GB for Windows Vista) * HD Space: 10GB * Video Card: ATI Radeon X1500, NVIDIA GeForce 6800

  • NP, but i have only DX10.1^^ HD4890...

  • woo, so i'm just above recommended specs atm for dx11 (tbh i assumed, since if it were that high, i can't think many people could play it). Running a phenom II 940 @ 3.7GHz and a 5870.

  • This game runs with a Phenom II x3 710 + HD 5750?

  • what wouldnt run on that...?

  • I don't know, maybe because the recommended is a Core i7....

  • you never ever need recomended to run the game... pretty much anything can run a game. if you wanted to know if you could max it out with that build, ask if its enough to run the game AT MAX SETTINGS! if you cant ask the right questions, you cant expect the right answer.

you asked if it can run dirt 2, and it can easily run dirt 2. it might not be able to run it at the highest settings, though.

  • I tend to find that the minimum specs for new games is an outright lie. A bunch of new games will barely run, if at all, on minimum specs.

  • @alexanderzero depends on the resolution you're running.

  • I'm proud to say that I'm running Batman: Arkham Asylum on a Athlon 64 3500+ single core at approx 20 fps which is just fine for me. =P

  • 800x600 lowest settings. anything can run every game with that.

  • you should b sitting good. I have an x4 955 and 5850 and told me I can max it out just fine. Can't wait.

  • Yes, not with highest settings and high resolution, but yes, it will.

  • How about 720p, no filters (AA-AF) but image quality to the max, can i get 60 fps or 30 at least??

  • runs great on core i7 ???

  • dude, any game does

  • I agree with sekaOne nicely said. So is this why were waiting so long for the PC release. Yeah Im not spending another 500 bucks on video cards so I can play this one game with enhanced effects.

  • "one game"

many many developers are going to use DX11 as more games come out, your going to miss out.

  • Music - Dinosaur Pile-Up - All Around The World

  • whats the point of tessellation, when it's not fully dynamic: the water has a large number of tris although it's completely flat at the beginning (the minor ripples are shaderbased). i've seen the same kind of tessellation (distance based) in matrox demos, 7 years ago on dx9. if you want to leave an impression, show us "intelligent tessellation" - if the car has no contact with the water, you just blow 50k tris on a flat surface right now - back to the drawing board :P
