  • I taught elementary school, and when I was 27, there was a12 year old girl, who adored me. One day she said, "Let's you and me go to Mexico and get married." Later, teaching fourth grade, one day I mentioned to the kids, "It 's about time I got married. Now, who should I marry? " Instantly, seven 10 year-old girls threw their arms into the air!" So don't tell me that it's not natural for little girls to play up to their fathers or older men.

  • Adults have the dirty minds. I mean really. When you see this, the first thing you think of is some sort of strange sexual attraction?? Ever think that YOU are the sick one? Think about that.

  • an ordinary day becomes a holiday when I'm with you....awwww I loved Shirley when I was kid!

  • It was different back then. People weren't dirty minded and corrupt. When she says "I want to be your wife" or " I caress you" it's innocent. Nowadays people easily twist things and make them dirty when they should be sweet.

  • Yes you are sooo correct...Pure inocence, she is expressing deep love for her father...

  • @JunoMacguff2012 People haven't changed. It's just that now we're not afraid to deal with taboo subjects. Many ideas and social issues have been swept under the rug for so long, people pretended like they didn't exist. Pedophilia and homosexuality are just a couple.

  • @r0land2k Exactly. That is true. But people did hold their morals a lot higher back then.

  • @JunoMacguff2012 Or at least publicly pretended to. I agree.

  • @JunoMacguff2012 so right!people just are gross nowadays!

  • @JunoMacguff2012 folk have always had the capacity to have dirty minds and be corrupt. Personally I never went through a day in my life wanting to marry my father, but I did have a crush on an uncle of mine . . . If you think men weren't waiting for Shirl to 'come of age' like with a young Charlotte Church you're wrong. lets just hope shirl had the presence of mind not to play 'Yank the sausage" with any of those gnarly old directors on the casting couch.

  • @teamcrumb How dare you talk about Shirley Temple like that! Have some respect!

  • @7shannonmarie It's good that people dare to say various things, it is part of free speech. What people say does not often bely their true opinions about something. We can be rude about or to whom we respect.

  • @tyciol What you said makes absolutely no sense at all!

  • @teamcrumb Were all the directors old and gnarly? Seems like an unfair generalization. Do you think people who do that do not have present minds?

  • @teamcrumb Okay, I was wrong when I said people didn't have corrupt minds. You are right. Everybody has dirty thoughts. But the difference between "us" now and "them" then is that they cared more about blocking them [dirty thoughts] out and trying to be moral. And when a child wants to marry their father, it's a purely innocent love. They say it cause they have no idea what it actually means yet.

  • @teamcrumb Cont. She's not saying "I have a crush on you" when she says she wants to marry him. It's not about sexual attraction. She's innocently saying "I love you".

  • @JunoMacguff2012 Um, I do think 'corruption' or 'dirtiness' or whatever has existed for a good while. I think it's more so that people speak more candidly about these issues than they did back then, perhaps due to more free speech and more awareness of troubles related to these issues.

  • @tyciol You're right. I was wrong when I said dirty minds and corruption didn't exist back then. What I meant to say was that people were generally less of those things back in that day.

  • @JunoMacguff2012 How do we know that though? These are states of the mind and we are unable to read the minds of the past or present peoples. We perceived less of it in the past, yes, but that could be due to subtlety, censorship, or pure lack of communication.

  • @JunoMacguff2012 They weren't less of those things. It just wasn't "kosher" to be open about it considering how society postured itself as a moral Christian place. Now the things people would have kept in their closet in the 40's are done right on your computer screen.

  • @JunoMacguff2012 you are gullible, and I admire why, but inter-generational pedophilia is a long standing tradition to certain masonic families, and people in show business are filled with these types - it's sad but the fact is this sort of manipulation has been going on for a very long time

  • @answerswithquestions And do you think this was a song about pedophilia? No.

  • @MsJCBurke You'd be surprised. If you look into project MKultra and project monarch (esoteric kitten has a lot of info on this on her channel) then you are in for a rude awakening.

  • Shirley Temple is #1. ;-)

  • she's just lovely!!! :)

  • its a play on physiology, haven't you ever heard how little girls want to marry their daddies and little boys want to marry their mommies. kids don't know what marriage means. its just a cute phase.you laugh and tell them sorry, you have to find someone else cause i'm taken.

  • Thank you for clearing the minds of SOME of these 21st century dirty minded folks who hear something and go all "Dr. Phil" about it. This was the 1930's! Life was so different then, and people were far different than we are now. Let's keep it within its perspective!

  • @moodybluesgurl I remember being that way!

  • you people are overreacting...=.=

  • Wish I could find a true shirley temple interview - but how could she ever admit to the perversion that was around her..... she would have to admit living a lie.... I only tried to find her videos to show my little girl but know now I can't co's the pheodiphiliac intones are to the point I would never let a child see men strange to them fondle, control and manipulate them.... if someone can show me an interview where she disputes this please do.
